2015 holiday

great site. spent 5 nights visiting the area. owners friendly and helpful. quiet and secure site. visiting the area Colchester castle is really a must see and the country park on Mersea Island should not be missed on good weather days, take a picnic.

we keep going back time and time again

We have been visiting Colchester for years and this site is our favourite, surrounded by fields and a warm welcome from Ella, its central for the town and beaches. we have watched the trees grow and try to remember a carrot for the horses and scraps for the chickens, the site is level and the grass regularly mowed. we have already booked to go again!

Ideal base for surrounding area

Very pleasant slightly sloping site with well manicured grass and plenty of room to pitch whichever way you fancy. Good shelter on one side from a mature hedge and well spaced trees to the other side. Public footpaths only 100 metres from outside of the site entrance but beware there are no footways beside the sometimes busy road. Excellent CL at a very reasonable price.

Ideal for discovering Essex

Quiet site and owner very welcoming. Entrance is very tight especially if you are coming from Boxed village. Site well maintained, clean and pitches are well separated. Chemical drain point but no facility for rinsing. Shower and toilet. Would be really good if toilet and shower could be divided into two rooms and an additional toilet would be the icing on the cake! However, value for money wise this site is recommended.
