Hi everyone. A tweet from Kirsty at Morrisons confirms that they are on board with Safefill. Filling is now allowed at all their sites. Show the cylinder to the cashier and away you go. This is great news for those who use gas and want to save money.

Congratulations to Safefill for your dogged determination to bring this product to market against overwhelming odds! The first crack has appeared in the dam! Thanks to all those who wrote to Morrison’s to ask why they couldn’t fill and thanks to Morrison’s for approaching this with an open and enquiring mind to cut through the rumours lies and propaganda surrounding this exceptional product. It is a better world today for the LPG user.

I do hope this is the case.  I've learned to be cautious about tweets until there's an official statement on the website of the company concerned.  Especially when the tweet is at the weekend frown

Please can this thread be updated with success stories.  I'm unlikely to invest as the payback time is too long for me but it would be good to know for sure

It is confirmed by Safefill Jayess if that puts your mind at rest. Successful fills were being reported on here well before the official announcement. Watch this space for other outlets coming on board.

I had a feeling that you wouldn’t be happy DD. Why do you always have to start a reply with an insult?? A long tirade? You asked me for my opinion!! You talk generally about LPG cylinders. If you had read my post you - something you have accused me of- you would have seen that I was referring specifically to Leisure Cylinders. Do the research and you will find that I am 100% correct. It’s OK - I wouldn’t expect you to come back and agree with me so you’re safe!! I’m out of here. I hope folk have been able to glean something from what I have been posting. Thanks to all who have had a kind word. Life is too short for all this angst🤣🤣🤣

As regards the retesting of Cylinders, firstly, the 10yrs time line is only a recommendation by Safefill and has no basis in law. A leisure cylinder is not covered by the regulations anyway...

Merve, I have read your long tirade and it is short on evidence.  Please put in links to regulations that specifically exempt the periodic testing of LPG cylinders used to supply gas for heating and cooking, etc.  In addition please put in a link to the "red guide" that now includes Safefill cylinders.

DD, you are cross examining an ordinary member of this forum as if He is the CEO of Safefill. That is unfair, you are now bordering on hounding/stalking, attacking Merve’s every reply. Pseudo judiciary has no place on a friendly forum surely.

Apologies to Merve for the post but I can see the attempted manipulation here & it’s not nice☹️

As you know I have no interest in Safefill but recognise that this thread and others has been a great source on information for the many that do.

That is encouraging but not what I saw in Spain and Portugal.

You obviously went to the wrong places then DD. Where you will have trouble is Italy but even there, off the beaten track it can be done. Portugal used to be the easiest place to fill up, you used to even be able to fill UK Calor bottles there.

nobody has said this yet but not all morrisons supermarkets have the facility to refill any cylinder of any make. my 2 nearest ones do not so hoping that the trend will change with all others. DD, why is your glass always half empty. stop criticizing everyone, you must be a pain to live with. chill.
