Hi everyone,

We wanted you to be the first to know about a new member offer with My Esso Card. The My Esso Card is a fuel card that provides savings at 1,300 Esso fuel stations to help drive down the cost of touring. Members are guaranteed to save on fuel at every Esso station across the UK with the only consumer facing fuel card.

We are the only organisation within the touring industry able to provide this offer to members.

What is the saving?

On average members will typically save 8p per litre on premium diesel or unleaded fuel and 5p per litre on standard diesel or unleaded fuel. That’s a typical saving of £5.60 per tank on premium fuel or £3.50 on standard fuel (based on 70 litre tank of fuel).

The saving varies based on the My Esso Card special rate and the Esso pump price rate. In the unlikely event that the pump price is lower than the My Esso Card special rate members are guaranteed to save 1p per litre on the pump price. You can use the My Esso Card to fill up all your vehicles, not just the one you tour with.

There are no fees to sign up and no transaction or processing fees. You can also earn your Tesco Clubcard points when filling up.

We are also running a competition for members for a chance to win free fuel.

To launch this great new offer, My Esso Card are giving Caravan and Motorhome Club members an exclusive chance to win free fuel. 10 lucky winners will win 175 litres of fuel and another 10 lucky winners 75 litres of fuel!  Members need to register for a card and fill by 31 December 2018 to be entered into the random prize draw.  Winners will automatically have the fuel credit added to their My Esso Card account.

To find out more about this member offer visit My Esso Card Member Offer on the Club website

Thank you for the reply however when signing up nowhere are we advised that payments will be processed through any company called Braintree.  This is not mentioned in the T&Cs and neither is it mentioned however to resolve a payment dispute.

I think that this needs to be escalated to the FOS as this a vary valid reason for a complaint.  BTW there is no complaints procedure in place in the event of a dispute like double dipping etc and I am sure that the FOS wil frown on this.

Secondly if this has been 2 years in the making how come the company Pump King was only formed in April 2018 and has not track record etc?

To be fair, I did see mention of Braintree. Can't remember where exactly but think it was on the pages advertising the offer

Going by the few members commenting on here (not number of posts - as it seems to be the people most of the time) there must be a large number of satisfied members.

Or a lot of dissatisfied members that don't post on this forum, maybe?wink

There are a lot of posters in this thread who do not usually appear on the forum, Goldie, and who knows how many more are reading without posting. It seems to me to be far more than a 'few members' posting.

I've no doubt there are many satisfied people but I’ve not seen this many unfamiliar posters appear since the fiasco that was COTY, or the rebranding. That, I think, tells its own story in terms of what a major debacle this scheme seems to be.

I will be interested to hear that all those expecting new cards will get useable ones on time and with no further problems.

We saw the advert in the Club magazine in early December  as I did not bother with the this forum.  It was only when we started having issues that I joined this thread and then  realised that I was not alone!

BTW we topped up today and the card was declined which was embarrassing for my wife when she tried to make a payment.  Luckily we had a debit card in the vehicle however no discount!

It is going from bad to worse!

agree this is a debacle, but i would suggest that there are thousands of satisfied users out there including members of this club, and this card was not unique to this club.

30 different posters on here maybe with a valid grievance. Lack of communication from the club is the 1 big downer, but Shell card was a fiasco also and that was pump king i seem to recall, 2 years ago ???  Used my card again today, still works , thank youlaughing

Speculating on numbers is just that but our own eyes show us the evidence stated here over 85 pages. It’s a poor show.frown

I am in agreement with you, however, 85 pages of mainly complaints, but what do the club do about this, nothing.

2 fuel cards promoted, 2 that went horribly wrong, the Shell card is now only valid for motorway use but originally was issued and then withdrawn for all Shell stations, I have checked back this was also pump king.

Dont even know what COTY was ?

You have been a long serving member, what is the way forward?, how can we prevent this type of fiasco happening again.

For me i will soldier on as a member and just pick out the best bits relevant to me, after all i only came to this forum for the overseas section originally.undecided
