Hi everyone,

We wanted you to be the first to know about a new member offer with My Esso Card. The My Esso Card is a fuel card that provides savings at 1,300 Esso fuel stations to help drive down the cost of touring. Members are guaranteed to save on fuel at every Esso station across the UK with the only consumer facing fuel card.

We are the only organisation within the touring industry able to provide this offer to members.

What is the saving?

On average members will typically save 8p per litre on premium diesel or unleaded fuel and 5p per litre on standard diesel or unleaded fuel. That’s a typical saving of £5.60 per tank on premium fuel or £3.50 on standard fuel (based on 70 litre tank of fuel).

The saving varies based on the My Esso Card special rate and the Esso pump price rate. In the unlikely event that the pump price is lower than the My Esso Card special rate members are guaranteed to save 1p per litre on the pump price. You can use the My Esso Card to fill up all your vehicles, not just the one you tour with.

There are no fees to sign up and no transaction or processing fees. You can also earn your Tesco Clubcard points when filling up.

We are also running a competition for members for a chance to win free fuel.

To launch this great new offer, My Esso Card are giving Caravan and Motorhome Club members an exclusive chance to win free fuel. 10 lucky winners will win 175 litres of fuel and another 10 lucky winners 75 litres of fuel!  Members need to register for a card and fill by 31 December 2018 to be entered into the random prize draw.  Winners will automatically have the fuel credit added to their My Esso Card account.

To find out more about this member offer visit My Esso Card Member Offer on the Club website

Well I should have expected it! Complained last night that my card hadn't arrived (from 6/12/18 application) and they turned up today. Yes, "they", I got 2 letters in the same post with cards in with different numbers. Picked one at random and tried it today. Seems to have worked so far!

Will you be auctioning the other card on here?

Well, I'm still seriously considering applying for the Esso card but all these reports of no cards turning up or two cards turning up is a bit worrying.

I'm still minded to open a separate bank a/c with a debit card, which I can top up to cover any Esso fuel purchase, so that any hacking into that a/c is damage limited. Popped into my bank yesterday and explained the situation to them and they said there would be no problem to open a separate a/c which I could top up from my current a/c for such purposes.

I think, in fact I have, a separate account for things similar to this is extremely sensible. It limits any financial loss and negates any comeback and stress should the worse happen and there is wriggle room for whoever to deny liability. I have a very limited limit credit card attached to it too. I use for online purchases and if I wanted one of these cards I'd make that the account that pays.

I've had lots of TV licensing renewal emails, if we hadn't been out of the country for 2 months after ours expired last year I could so easily have fallen for it, it appeared that convincing! It suggested a date during the month rather than the last day of the month which caused me to pause and think and I checked my email copy. Should I have been caught it would have been this account which may have a float of as much as 😯 £50 so my losses would be limited. Unlike one poor couple who lost £9,900 and the bank says NO.

I think we are being asked to do more online and there are nasty folk out there who'd love to take your hard earned money. Think back to years ago you didn't regularly carry large amounts of cash in your pocket or handbag, theft or simply losing being obvious reasons, and folks would say you were being irresponsible  - personally I cant see the difference here. Anywhere can fall foul of the rogues!

Finally got my card after a long wait and several texts promising delay was being sorted. However, I can’t access my account to get my PIN using my login email address - doesn’t recognise it. All communication to-date has been via text rather than email. Attempts to resolve via helpline haven’t resulted in any progress or confidence that anybody is urgently looking into it. So, 1 step forward, 1 step back!

Just got the text with next weeks prices and unless sainsburys put their price up by next week it's cheaper to use them.

I guess it must depend on where in the uk you are and possibly how far away is the nearest Asda...

Our local Sainsbuy's is currently £1.30 compared to Esso's £1.23 for diesel....

just noticed pump king have taken money on two transactions I’ve already paid. I have emailed them to hopefully get them sort it .

Also it appears this is happening to a lot of card users  according to posts that are appearing on various caravan groups on facebook

Think CAMC need to be contacting pump king as this isn't acceptable
