Hi everyone,

We wanted you to be the first to know about a new member offer with My Esso Card. The My Esso Card is a fuel card that provides savings at 1,300 Esso fuel stations to help drive down the cost of touring. Members are guaranteed to save on fuel at every Esso station across the UK with the only consumer facing fuel card.

We are the only organisation within the touring industry able to provide this offer to members.

What is the saving?

On average members will typically save 8p per litre on premium diesel or unleaded fuel and 5p per litre on standard diesel or unleaded fuel. That’s a typical saving of £5.60 per tank on premium fuel or £3.50 on standard fuel (based on 70 litre tank of fuel).

The saving varies based on the My Esso Card special rate and the Esso pump price rate. In the unlikely event that the pump price is lower than the My Esso Card special rate members are guaranteed to save 1p per litre on the pump price. You can use the My Esso Card to fill up all your vehicles, not just the one you tour with.

There are no fees to sign up and no transaction or processing fees. You can also earn your Tesco Clubcard points when filling up.

We are also running a competition for members for a chance to win free fuel.

To launch this great new offer, My Esso Card are giving Caravan and Motorhome Club members an exclusive chance to win free fuel. 10 lucky winners will win 175 litres of fuel and another 10 lucky winners 75 litres of fuel!  Members need to register for a card and fill by 31 December 2018 to be entered into the random prize draw.  Winners will automatically have the fuel credit added to their My Esso Card account.

To find out more about this member offer visit My Esso Card Member Offer on the Club website

I can't think of any Esso retailers near to where I live, so it would not be in regular use. However, it could provide a saving when touring on the small amount of fuel I sometimes have to take on board to get me to the next supermarket fuel retailer.

Also, do not set your heart on increasing your Tesco Points. Esso has announced a significant transformation to their fuel loyalty scheme. From next year the company will end their partnership with Tesco Clubcard and, instead, are to team up with Nectar.

Thinking about it, for myself I can't really see any point. The last time I filled up at anywhere other than a supermarket was several years ago. Also supermarkets occasionally have 10p or so off a litre if you spend £60 on groceries. So the very remote chance that I might utilise an Esso station, is not worth me parting with bank or credit card details to yet another organisation who might be hacked.

We use standard fuel so ours would be a small local saving of £3 or less on an occasional motorhome fill. We hardly bother with Tesco points, we'd possibly do better with Nectar but not a lot.

It's a case of doing the sums, if you're near an Esso garage and fill up vehicles frequently the only guarantee is a 1p per litre saving.

Same boat as me, they are all Shell around here and what with an unclear special price I am judging  that the savings are not going to be any better than the local Supermarkets of which I have plenty to choose from. When out and about I just keep a eye out for the cheaper ones or pop into a supermarket garage.

Every Friday, you will receive a text message from my esso fuel. The prices will be for the following week, however you have the option to either purchase before Monday or wait fro the new prices to kick in (depends which rate works our better for you.

The weeks prices are the special rate for members and is the rate you will pay at ANY Esso station.

This weeks price is in fact CHEAPER THAN MY LOCAL ASDA GARAGE (one standard unleaded and standard Diesel) £1.19 v £1.21.

This is not always the case and depends on the location.

Petrol prices are complex. It is the only place where most of the time you turn up without knowing the price.

It is a good feeling to know you will always make a saving.

Trouble is brue, unless you can find the current Esso Card rate, so as to compare it with supermarket prices, it is impossible to do any sums. Other than knowing you would get 1p off the Esso pump price. We have an Esso nearby and 1p would bring it nowhere near the local Tesco. I know the rate will vary week on week. However, giving customers access to the information before they sign up would be a better way to market it, in my opinion.

So can we get access to these rates and monitor them for a period before signing up. Or do we have to sign up first.

I have saved 16 pence per liter during a period of 3 months. What's more my wife is happy with the Tesco club card points accumulated. It is definitely worth having the card on your person. I saved 12 pence per liter on a trip to Perth (return) 140 litres x 0.12 = £16.80 on one journey.

Seems to me like a goodish saving💷

Although you have to register a primary vehicle, you can use the card for ALL your vehicles.

We have been trialing this card for a few months now, and the 1p saving has never come into play.

We are aware that in a very few obscure Esso garages that may be cheaper on the pump price than the my Esso fuel card rate. This is why we wanted a guarantee a 1p saving. So YOU WILL ALWAYS SAVE.

Average savings on standard unleaded has been on average 10p per liter.

The beauty of this card is that it is free, no charges, no minimum use, no risk.

The terms and conditions refer to an Esso Card special rate.

Saving varies based on My Esso Card special rate and Esso pump price rate.

Is the current special rate available anywhere. This would help me decide if it is worth applying for one.

Posted on 23/11/2018 10:03

The special rate for each fuel type will be sent to your mobile by text each Friday.

This week the standard diesel pence per liter was £1.288, standard unleaded was £1.20.5.

New prices are sent each week and will vary.
