How to thrive on a non 240v site!

Due to difficulties migrating the original thread, which was massively interesting and popular with members, I am starting another one until the original can be found and  migrated to the Forum.  I apologise to the original OP but I think this is far too important not to be available. Personally, I think, because of the massive moves in technology recently, this subject should have a section by itself. I don't suppose the CC would think about that? So, anything about Solar Panels, LED lighting, Inverters, Safefill even. Anything that assists the caravanners to go off grid in fact - and saves money!!

Can't see many wanting to lug a 47kg bottle for a refill Merve.

In 47kg cylinders propane works out at £0.56p /litre, delivered free, so not quite the same incentive.

I agree Vic - the savings are not so clearly defined with the large cylinders but there is still a saving in the right circumstances. My daughters FIL pays about £70 for one. The leisure industry has been ripped off for years though.

With the club buying their gas from Calor for something around 20p a litre I suppose they think it important to play ball.  I am reliably informed a local chicken unit pays that and Calor offered me log @ 21.5p a litre to fill my Central Heating.  I declined!  But pay that to another smaller company!

Hmmmph I suggested the Thrive title way back when Merve restarted this thread!

All we need now is for some MH manufacturers to fit sensible sized gas lockers and hatches to match. Some of the MH's I have looked at during my research clearly don't envisage anything bigger than a single 6Kg Calorlite and even that needs a shoe horn.

a decenty designed locker, that yakes 2x 13kg cylinders.....

my van (not the actual one) and not me in the picture.....(not that good anyway, lol.....)

Thanks Wye, just one more bit to add to the puzzle. I will report it to Safefill.
