How to clean inside my Wastemaster

On our previous trip the kitchen sink drained very slowly so I assumed there was a build up of "something" in the waste pipe as it takes a laborious route to get to the outlet.  So I got underneath and hauled all the pipes off. Great was the surprise that they were all clear and clean - apart from the outlet connector which was the cause of the trouble.

However, I think I will still alter the pipe run so it goes "down and out" rather than around the wheel arch and along a bit. Just means Wastemaster will sit on other side of road wheels.

We "inherited" a wastehog with a used caravan a few years ago, the thing was really smelly when opened up and badly stained, after trying a whole range of different cleaning products which had some effect on the stench but not on the staining, decided that I would try an abrasive approach, opting for some decorative gravel (not unlike the type used on some hardstandings) along with hot water and some detergent.

After a few rotations of the wastemaster end over end and sideways, the goop was discharged to drain then the gravel rinsed through inside the waste container before returning it to the origin.....

worked exceedingly well and there has been no return of the goopiness or smell as its always rinsed out with the last of hot water from the heater which then prevents any damage to the grass on the pitch when draining down prior to moving off at the end of the stay on site.

I can see you would want to get rid of the smell but stains on the inside would not worry me.

Every now and then we add a little blue which seems to work for us.

Never had a problem with good old fashioned bleach!

Ditch the Wastemaster and use a bucket. When it's full, sling it over the hedge. Advice applies to CLs only, not Club sites!

As for a smelly wastemaster, fill with clean water, two bio capsules, leave for a week and problem smells gone.

I've never noticed a smell from my wastemaster. I must therefore conclude that it is one or more of the following:-

a. The weather is never hot enough when I'm in the van

b. My sense of smell is rubbish

c. I'm washing unnecessarily as clean water is entering the wastemaster.

Must admit that our wastemaster does pong a bit, but I would guess that's because it's in use for over 2/3rds of the year. Will have to give it the double tab treatment, when we get home.
