I use Mr Muscle drain cleaner in the kitchen sink and bathroom basin. Not only does it keep the convoluted drain pipes clean in the caravan but it also has the side effect of cleaning the inside of the wastemaster.

Great tip. Thanks ;-)

BEWARE!!!.

Mr Muscle (and similar products) will eat 'chrome' sink plugholes.....do not leave longer than the 5 mins specified, or all that lovely clean waste pipe will be carrying your tears.......been there......Don't cry

White vinegar diluted and left overnight, it descales as well especially if the water is warmed up first. I also do my cassette with it.

I agree with just put the caps on after rinsing out. Basically all you are going to do is put more dirty water in it so as long as it does not smell it is not a problem.

Ditch the Wastemaster and use a bucket. When it's full, sling it over the hedge. Advice applies to CLs only, not Club sites!

Would a litre of white vinegar topped up with water do the trick?

Mind, why would you need to clean this?  Its never crossed my mind.  Its gets soapy water in it mostly, which is, I'd expect, a decent way to clean it.

cheap cola - I use 4 bottles which are about 25p each, slosh it in, let it soak, turn it over, slosh it a bit more, soak it a bit more then rinse it out. Only do it once a year though.  Do the caravan drains in the same way - plug, fill up with cola, soak then drain

I prop mine up base facing the sun, cap off, between our trips away.

The sun dries out the gunge to a flaking film that rinses away when the waste container is next put to use.

If  you  really  must  clean  it  but  you  find  a  few  stains  remain  you  could  try  the  old  florists  trick.  Take  the  cleaning  fluid  of  your  choice  &  put  it  into  your  wastemaster or  whatever,  then  add  some  glass  marbles  { the  kids  toy  variety }  seal  the  container  and  get  some  exercise  by  picking  it  up,  and  giving  it  a  darned  good  shaking  for  a  while  ==  If  that  does  not  clean  it,  then  its  never  going  to  get  better  !!
