PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING.

This thread is not for discussions. Post ONLY factual information.

To provide a comprehensive list of problems encountered, I would suggest that each post lists only one issue at a time.

Provide details of problem  as concisely as possible.

Operating system, machine used and relevant software. i.e. Macbook/ PC/tablet, Windows XP/ iOS7 etc, Safari/Internet Explorer/Chrome inc version No.

Please do not enter into discussions such as "I've had/not had this problem" as this will detract from the objectivity of the thread. Hopefully this thread may assist the IT department in finding where "all the bodies are buried".

PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING.

Is anyone getting different section titles each time they look through the web  site? I'm getting alternating ones in the UK touring section either Kendal or Andalucia? undecided

Yes I get the same -  strange isn't it. frown

It might well be because I moved it from UK Campsites to Overseas. Sometimes it appears like that until it's had a reply in it's new location?

Reviews are still being repeated, this is one where the review has appeared three times. See here

Seems to be an ongoing problem.

As the site is so slow, I wonder if people don't realise their review has gone through. Just now I'm getting a lot of buffering trying to find this section and post this comment.

Brue

I think you are right that the slow, slow speed is causing most of the problems with duplicate posts and reviews. Interestingly it's also the one issue we don't seem to have any feedback on as to the reasons.

Because we're not on high speed  services here I never know if it's us or the club. But it looks as though most problems are club problems and I'm sorry to see this situation has not been upgraded.

Agree brue and David.

Some feed back would be nice. However, recently the frequency of any club posts on CT seems to be very low. As for ask the expert, where perhaps one on web site issues could be hosted, there has not been anything since December.☹️

Steve

It does make you wonder what the future of Club Together is? The lack of interest or urgency in getting things sorted out seems to stem from when the Club invested heavily in the Social Media side. I am not suggesting that side of things in the modern world is unimportant but I don't think it a lot to ask to have a fully functioning forum. The "new" forum has been up and running, or should that be limping, for over six months. There are probably only a handful of things that, if sorted, would made for a much improved experience. Amongst them are:-

1) Tackle the ridiculously slow speed of the forum, or at least give an explanation of why it is so slow.

2) Stop the duplication of posts if not connected with the above and change the system so mods can delete duplicates without it having a knock on effect on the thread you wish to leave in place.

3) Improve the experience for those using using tablets including the ability for Apple users insert an avatar in their profile.

4) Allow photographs to be posted into discussions full width, still size restricted but not as thumbnails.

5) Sort out the Story Section to restore the photographs some posters have spent a lot of time placing in their stories or if this is not possible delete all the old stories and start again from the cut off point at which things went wrong.

There may well be other things but the above have been talked about for almost all the time since the new forum came into being.

I think you have covered it very well there David. It's not really much to ask for, or expect after 6 months. Even a statement, like we will be upgrading our servers in x months, at which time speeds should improve would be nice.

Oh I forgot they spent the server money on the relaunch.😱

Incidentally Wanderbirds link to the BBC story on Photobucket (third party adverts thread) May mean a lot of the photos in the old stories might have been replaced by the payment request, if hosted on this site. That's even if they can find them in the first place.

The FB & Twit. pages aren't moving much either. I suppose there is a limit to how much time can be spent on these things, but at least they function properly.

edit Steve, I've never used Photobucket or similar and all my story photos are lost. I wonder how the club was storing them?
