Sorry if this has been asked before and I've not seen it.

Is there a reason why unlike most other forums there appears to be no record of how many posts a user has made?

The short answer is useless website designed by the clubs IT department.surprised

There may be some way to find out although its not something that bothers me, I think there are more fundamental issues to be sorted

What might it tell you,

They are a 'waffler', experienced, argumentative, nothing better to do even when on holiday, bored, or just like relating with others who may be one of the above (undecided undecided)

Probably right, I've been around from onset and always questioned the need for those stars. It might be true that many of the purple chasers have since disappeared or largely disappeared.

There are quite a lot of people (not star chasers) who posted before and still post at the moment

I think in the main, 'starchasers' was a word that was used as a weapon by folk to hit who they wanted to OPfrown

Most forums that give a post count, usually excluding posts made in off topic areas, can do so because they are using off the shelf forum software. The Club decided not to go down that route. I tend to agree with others that we need to concentrate on getting what we have right first before embarking on new features.

What does it matter how many posts we each make? Hundreds or thousands of posts made playing games in the trivia section are no indication of a poster's knowledgeable input.

Rocky made a very relevant point in that stars were used as a weapon by some to have a go at others and a post count could, and would, be used in exactly the same way.
