It's a sad day

When one of our Forum members has resigned from this Forum namely Tigerfish, I can understand why, and the sooner the Club realises a lot more will take the same action,I am not going to spell out what is wrong as the Club should know, suffice to say that there are many new members on CT that have only joined to pick a fight on a personal nature, I know as I have had abuse myself..

I joined this Forum in its infancy and many have fallen by the wayside due to Threads being closed by the Cyber Police for ridiculous reasons, in the early days everyone was friendly, but not any more, the Club should take a look before tis Forum goes down the Pan and more members call it a day including myself.

I have been in touch with other members who I have met and they think the same as me, I will give it a little longer to see if things improve and then make a decision, in the meantime Good Luck Tigerfish, I believe  many on here support you,and you will be sadly missed for your excellent Threads and Posts

I'd better sign off now before this Thread is closed, as the Club do not like criticism

Happy Easter

I am a big fan of MH Fun and have also enjoyed CT over the last couple of years.

From a software perspective Fun wins hands down - no surprise there.

Members of the Fun forum also proactively seem to bring members together over a medley of social meets throughout the year in both the UK, Europe and beyond.

CT is free - Fun is not.

CT is not primarily Motorhome focused - Fun has a few caravanners but the title says it all.

As someone new to the lifestyle / hobby CT is a great place to learn.

Grumpiness, CT excels over Fun

Of course the above is only my humble opinion, however, I look forward to meeting some of the Funsters this year on a few of their rallies - so I still have much to learn.

There maybe a CT meet at the National, if so I hope it goes well (unfortunately we are booked into Kettlby Lakes on a booking we had to move from last year).

My closing view, CT has more work to do to build a more smart  community but is a good forum that I like.

As they say-'a picture paints a thousand words' the ability to post a pic taken from an album without using a 3rd party is the best way. You see it as extra & not a replacement for CTHappy. I figured that HD. CT has its many detractors but they keep posting, something drives them to do that. I remember Highlandman, He was not happy the way CT changed back in the day, He hasn't posted since-you just got to respect that kind of decision making, a man of His word, I liked HighlandmanHappy

Most forums have their good and not so good points. This forum is no better or worse than many others. It really depends on how each individual views the calibre of discussion.

This is a very very basic forum, it was never intended to compete with any others in the web, it was merely implemented to give CC customers the opportunity to help each other enjoy and discuss their mutual hobby of caravanning.  Yes there would have been much fewer posts, but quantity alone is not the judge of a good forum. Quality is what really matters.

In this the CC forum has been successful. !!

If the forum had stuck to the original implementation and not diversed into an all singing all dancing forum encompassing non - caravanning subjects there would have been little need to moderate or even upgrade the software.

Unfortunately the genie is now out of the bottle and there is no going back, so if the CC want to stay ahead of the game they should take a serious look at other forums in the sector and learn from what makes them appeal to the more experienced and discerning posting fraternity.

I post on a number of forums and this one is not as bad as some of you make out.

If the CC get their new forum right and address the many little foibles of this one, then it may attract back many of the more discerning posters who have chosen to post elsewhere.

Smile

I enjoy CT on the whole, and suspect like most posters have made the odd hiccup about where I have posted something, perhaps not got everything right. Depends how much it means to you, what value it is to you. A lot of posters have come and gone, some have come and gone on a fairly regular basis, I have no doubts TF will be back.
