'Club Approved stickers' on posts - how?

I've just noticed a post in the thread about the Sprite Quattro, where one of the answers has a 'Club Approved' red 'sticker' in one corner.  How do they get put there, and what does a post need to make sure it meets the 'Club Approved' requirements?

If she is qualified and authorised to bestow these accolades presumably only two or three posts in the past few years have been up to her and the clubs standards?

Which indicates that over 99% of posts are a waste of time.....must admit I nearly agree with that but I wouldn't dare!!

Rowena, leaving aside Kelly's knowledge, this issue is so contentious I again urge you to drop it rather than simply taking feedback on board.

You want CT to be a harmonious place but you are putting in place a divisive tool. Look at all the comments and take serious note. I know you usually ignore anything I say (including my emails) but I am not alone in opposing this.

Hi Tinwheeler.

I am certainly not ignoring your comments and have asked for feedback so we can review this as previously mentioned, so I'm really sorry if you felt this was the case as I value your feedback. If the stamp is not popular choice then we will of course not use the Club approved stamp as it was by no means intended to cause upset but was there to offer reassurance and help to anyone with a question.

I do always try and reply to emails but often we get hundreds in a week which is why we always advise we will always review but do not always respond.

Sorry Oneputt, I didn't read your reply before posting this, but I think it deserves saying again!

I raised the issue in the first place, because I didn't understand why the first poster to reply in that thread had given the correct reply - and yet the 'Club Approved' sticker went to the second poster, who had really almost repeated the advice.  I've no doubt the first poster isn't best pleased that it wasn't his post which was 'Club Approved' which is why I think it is likely to lead to dissent rather than 'approval' of the stickers.

I think you know perfectly well which emails I refer to, Rowena. Do you want me to spell it out here? OK, I will! People, including me, were so disgusted with your lack of action regarding bullying on CT that they were leaving. I pointed this out to you in two or three emails and you had not the courtesy to reply to a single one at a time when you should have been taking action against the culprits and placating others. Do you recall it now? It's actually quite insulting to be told such mails are amongst hundreds in a week and that's why you can't respond.

With regards to the red stamp, I think I and others have made our feelings crystal clear. It obviously isn't going to be a popular move and will almost certainly cause upset, arguments, and furore on CT.

I'm sorry that you feel that way Tinwheeler and would like to assure you action where appropriate was taken but we cannot discuss individual cases with other people. At the same time as receiving your reports we were also receiving reports that there was over moderation, so it is very difficult to please everyone. This is why the guidelines are in place with procedure clearly outlined which we follow.

We ask that this is not discussed on the open forum and as such please can we keep the discussion on topic otherwise we will need to remove posts. Many thanks.

Perhaps the issue is that most of us did not realise that this way of giving "official approval" actually existed. I do not wish to take anything away from the poster that received that acolade but I have seen many replies on this forum that have been as equally as useful but have received no such reconigition. They may not have been of a technical nature but none the less equally informative to the original person asking the question.   It therefore seems that the option is not being used universally across the board so perhap understandable that people see it as being not a level playing field so to speak.

I think the club approached this "stamp" in the wrong way , what should have happened was first an explanation of was it was , and then how it was going to be used , rather than it just appearing Surprised, and it has already caused controversy , so may be best to put it to bed..........
