'Club Approved stickers' on posts - how?

I've just noticed a post in the thread about the Sprite Quattro, where one of the answers has a 'Club Approved' red 'sticker' in one corner.  How do they get put there, and what does a post need to make sure it meets the 'Club Approved' requirements?

Could it be that if any poster says that the CC IT department is the best in the business, they will receive a red "Club Approved Sticker" on their post.

Wink

Thus us a copy of my post to Kelly of CC made in the Sprite Quatro thread -

What a fiasco! Sorry, but it is. Surely, Club Approval shouldn't be handed out to some posters and not others? Many people give correct information without getting a ridiculous red sticker on their posts. Who is qualified to judge these matters?

I guess by your use of the smileys in your posts that you think this is a matter of fun which it isn't. Ridiculous, yes. Fun, no.

What happened to good old communications - did no one have the simple thought of telling CT users what was going on?

Kelly, this is an ill thought out idea and divisive in nature. My advice is to drop it forthwith before you drag the Club into heated arguments.

Hi everyone,

The Club approved stamp has actually always been a feature of the community since the launch of Club Together in 2012 and is not new functionality. This has been used in the past to show that a response is advice that The Club would agree with. It has been used in the technical section by Kelly, who is part of the technical team at The Caravan Club.

The stamp is meant to easily identify advice that The Club agrees with but if this is causing confusion I'm certainly happy to listen to feedback and we can review the use of this.

Ro, this is a red rag to a bull, actually I think it is worse than the stars, its not confusion but what will happen in response to that post, also what anyone else posts as an answer is totally useless. Human nature will jump in and attack any post that has an approved stamp, simply because it has been approved as being correct. That post will be picked to pieces to try and prove otherwise, not a good idea in my opinion.

Rowena, I agree with DaveFL2 and stand by my earlier post.

Has anyone considered the litigation aspect in the event of someone who follows advice given in a 'Club approved' post having an accident if the advice is not totally correct?

I urge you in the strongest terms to scrap the scheme for all the reasons already given. This has to be one of the daftest ideas CC has ever had.

Thanks everyone for the feedback so far.

TW, I completely understand what you are saying and just want to reassure you that Kelly only Club approves posts if she would post the exact same information herself. If we don't Club Approve she would be posting the same advice instead. As Kelly is in the technical team she is trained and knowledgeable when it comes to this section of the community and gives advice to members every day via email and phone calls.

However, like I say we are happy to take member's feedback on board and will review the use of the stamp going forward.

The person who commented before the person who got the cc approved stamp (on the Sprite thread) said pretty much same so why did the second poster get the recognition?  See how decisive this could become!
