I visit 3 other caravan forums, read alot and post infrequent where I think I can add value. I have been a member of this forum from nealy the start but in the past 6/12 month it has become quite a nasty forum at times

I must say the sniping on this forum between posters is probably the worst I have come across, and in the real world would be classed as bullying in some instances.

I dont know how the site is moderated but it does seam that people can get away with alot of atacking and post drift because of these personal atacks and sniping. It also will put alot of people from posting for fear of getting the same treatment off the same people.

I've seen this on swift talk, but not noticed it here.  In fact I've noticed the opposite here in there are a group of names who are wonderfully helpful.

You mean the ex copper with the Jeep that has been banned from all the mainstream caravan forums??

There appears to be a small group of them on there yes.  I think one of them has a Jeep from memory.  There is someone recently who has also been removed by Swift hasn't there.

I've not been on there since I uncovered said ex copper for the iriot he is Tongue Out

Like most forums there are characters. I also look beyond the postings to understand that sometimes people have major personal events in their lives, such as pending bereavement and use their hobby forums as a release from those pressures. Often those stories become clear in the fulness of time.

Live and let live.

No, KeefySher, we've all signed up for this forum by agreeing to the T&Cs, trolling is not something that should form part of the forum. Trolls take pleasure in upsetting and disrupting, in real life they may indeed have problems but this is not the place for inflicting more upsets. I can't recall anyone on here who has had something difficult going on in their lives using the forum to distress others. But I can recall lots of kindness and help towards anyone in need of comforting words and thoughts.

TW I simply don't understand why many other fora can self manage whereas CT fails so comprehensively.

It is rather an oddity, DD. My only guess is that posters know that suspension from the forum is rare and banning even rarer. This would appear to be due to the interface between CC and CT which apparently makes CC reluctant to act for fear of upsetting/losing members and thus losing their business. The result is that some posters believe they can act with impunity.

With respect, you have taken a 180 degree interpretation of my post. Which highlights the one dimensional aspect of the written word on the internet and the need to comprehend context, that may not be immediately apparent on first reading.

Trolls live under bridges, and as in the fable are unreal and cowards.

For the most part I am against moderator intervention but I would fully understand this thread being fully Deleted User or at least closed.  I would also understand if the tone put off most new readers and made many more very wary of posting for fear of the comments they may get.

Why dont you like it? As i was told further up use the off button!!

K, let's be a little honest here. You have a somewhat deep rooted dislike of a certain few things that occasionally crop up on here. Teaching and teachers being one of them. Pontificating from your own pedestal doesn't hide this, and trying to throw a cloud of mystery via "usual suspects" jibes only further shows disrespect to other posters. Which is the point of the opening posters case regarding arguments and off thread twists!

Write your comments here.. What makes you think I dislike Teachers and Teaching. I have many family members who are/were teachers and we get on really well.  It seems to be when school working hours and holidays are mentioned in all innocence, that some on here, cannot accept that to those who don't work in schools, teaching can be seen as a cushy little  stress-free pastime.

One thing I think that this forum could do without is the ganging up by the usual gang on any individual poster who happens to disagree with the gang's opinions.Frown

IMO everybody is entitled to their own opinion and as such others should show respect  even although not agreeing with what is being said.

..There are "opinions" and there are deliberate attempts by a couple of posters start a devisive thread ,and then get upset when other posters who are aware of the "person" will attempt to bring the thread into a more near the truth thread

so by other posters I guess you mean the usual suspects and to bring the thread into a more near the truth you mean the usual suspects will all post in quick succession to try and bully the member to stop posting their relevant opinion.

When we had a MH, I was a moderator on the owners forum. There were several see you next tuesday types from their postings, that when challenged at rallies were asked why? The oft response was, no idea, but complete embarassment.

Hence why forums have to be taken as unreal.
