Sites Directory and pitch charges

Like myself, I would imagine lots of members need to know the likely costs before they go through the ritual of choosing a particular campsite, and the best price according to time of season.

A good example is the 2017/2018 CAMC directory - look up the campsite and the pitch costs are clearly displayed.  Not so now. To find out exactly what it will cost you means a laborious lowing through the system to get these important details.

I don’t know why this unhelpful change was introduced, but it is of no assistance to members and does not indicate any intelligence by the Club administrators when formatting the handbook.

Had all the prices been available, as in past issues of the SD, it would have been simplicity itself. However, given CAMC's desire to squeeze every last little bit of profit, the printing of the current pricing regime would result in a SD the size of 'War & Peace'. Dispensing with this has doubtless resulted in  both a cost saving and camouflage of the true scale of the escalation in prices.

I guess some people would rather have that "war & peace" sized book in the glovebox rather than taking 30 seconds to look at the price online where there's no "camouflage". The mind boggles.

ACSI manage it in  two small volumes for 10x the number of sites but of course they are not changing  their rates daily.

They only show the off season all in ACSI price though, I guess it would be a lot more complicated to show the peak prices with all the different add ons that often apply.

I don’t absolutely disagree.

However you left out the bit about having a decent signal, a device that works ok with the new system and the patience of a Saint🤣 Oh, and do it before 10pm in the evening, ‘cos it’s Lego man time after that🤣🤣

You don’t get those on a digital membership though, they cost extra.😉

I've never looked at the C&CC as "the opposition" brue. Just two big companies providing a similar product.

Surely it's a personal choice to go digital or not ?.

Personally I feel the lack of a site supplement is purely a money making exercise. How difficult would it have been to list the sites and areas , and then even loosely colour coded them according to price ?. That way if a member is working to a strict budget they could at least immediately rule certain sites out.
