I can't see the original sticky so will start a new thread.  Saw nearly 30,000 knot on Breydon Water yesterday.  Great weekend at Minsmere, Otter, Kingfishers, Bitterns, lots of Marsh Harriers

Agree that it's a great photo,OP. We've only ever seen one Water Vole and that was on one of the weirs on Lathkil Dale, below Monyash, many years ago.

BM

Yes, I was joking, I am the least competitive person witness the fact that I shared the location.

6 large birds of prey circling at different altitudes. Think kites as they're meowling.

Loads more geese - easy to identify by noise and formation 😉. Actual variety unknown.

Loving being a Burnham Wick but sad not seen any owls and only seen the hares once 😔

Thanks OP

Van in for service 2nd Oct and remains of hurricane due 1st week of Oct so second week is looking favourable.

We stayed at Cakes and Ale last time which is near Titchwell. Looked at Sycamore which is just up the road, so another option is welcome if we make it over.

I thought that the Cake and Ale campsite was close to Minsmere, unless there is another one.  I stay at a CL called Fishers Field which is really good and gas 2 hard standings, 2 wet rooms, pub a short stroll away.  I will hopefully be staying there sometime in October.

Good trip to Minsmere today, plenty of bearded tit activity and a bittern in flight.  Limited where we could go due to a lot of areas not wheelchair friendly.

Cariadon, we saw the 3 seal pups at Cwmtydu today and a couple of adult ones too, one on the shore and another in the next cwn to the north. Spotted what I took to be Merlin passing overhead as we walked the coastal path, but it was too fast for me to be sure; definitely not a Kestral.

Funnily enough, NTH, we also saw a Merlin today whilst walking around Orford Ness. Also saw a Lesser Whitethroat, Spotted Redshank, both Chats and a lovely unidentified Spider. (Hope the weather's keeping up for you.)
