Posted on 27/09/2017 16:12 by brueBakers2. The feathers, if they are quite large, might be from a Buzzard.

I thought large bird of prey. When we were there last time Marsh harriers were pointed out to us and that's what I suspected. We did have 6 large birds of prey soaring at once, parents and offspring? on the thermals, I suspected they were red kites as they mewed.

I think the one could be buzzard having had same feather in our field here in the Lot France, also today we had 9 purple heron's flying around looking for some water to land we have a few small lakes near us and they eventually went off towards one and then disappeared a lovely sight of 9 together.

More photos from a visit to NT Stourhead this morning, some Canada geese and a lovely old sweet chestnut tree. I could smell the burnt sugar scent of the Katsura trees. CL at Stourhead had just one motorhome on it but it's a lovely time of the year to visit and have the freedom of the estate.
