I can't see the original sticky so will start a new thread.  Saw nearly 30,000 knot on Breydon Water yesterday.  Great weekend at Minsmere, Otter, Kingfishers, Bitterns, lots of Marsh Harriers

Cariadon, we saw the 3 seal pups at Cwmtydu today and a couple of adult ones too, one on the shore and another in the next cwn to the north. Spotted what I took to be Merlin passing overhead as we walked the coastal path, but it was too fast for me to be sure; definitely not a Kestral.

op

Glad to see your Vole picture is as good as mine and no better, I would have to go back and try again otherwise, it really is addictive creature.

Don't have to worry about ID for the first pictures attached, but the last one has me foxed.

i beleive it is an RAF tornado with Rolls-Royce RB199 engine

I am sure you were joking, but Please can we avoid competition and post pics as encouragement to get out and see things. I like the prompts that others have seen to get out and see for myself.

Yours and OP posts has resulted in four visits this year alone to your neck of the woods, and several more in future.

The vole didn't take much notice of us and was happy to continue feeding, that is until, the big lens brigade came crashing in, but as I'd already got nearly 30 pics we just left them to it.  Think they are are group of tick box birderssurprised.

Glad you have got out and about in our area Blue.  We are off to Barleywood next week so a couple of strong easterly winds would bring some rarities to our shores.

I see someone got pics of a spotted Crake in Hornchurch, Essex but I can't find a precise location.

We missed Strumpshaw this time around, but on the list fornext year. Hoping for a trip in October if weather is good, so might make the east coast one more time this year.

OP

Looks like the Crake is at Hornchurch Country Park

When we were at Titchwell earlier this summer, there was not a lot about. When do the winter birds start to arrive, would there be more around in October?

Lots of Geese, yellow browed warblers and waders arriving daily.  October is usually a good time to be up here

Great photo, Oneputt. I've never seen a water vole, maybe next week?

Did you walk along the path on the right, lovely views from there. Apparently the dolphins was in the quay in New Quay today.  Hope you are enjoying the beauty of Cardiganshire.
