I can't see the original sticky so will start a new thread.  Saw nearly 30,000 knot on Breydon Water yesterday.  Great weekend at Minsmere, Otter, Kingfishers, Bitterns, lots of Marsh Harriers

After hearing Cuckoos calling for the last few days I saw my first ones of the year this morning, when out walking on the West Highland Way up to Conic Hill.

Pliers 6 x Dotterels flew west over Sheringham today.  Could be on their way over your way

If we get a clear night tonight (last night was good in the SW) take a look at the rising moon towards the south moving westwards. You'll see Jupiter just below it, a bit like a double pearl earring.smile

Managed to see what I assume was Jupiter just under the moon and to the right, came and went a bit! Much brighter planet about the same height as the moon about 9.40pm. Thanks

Just found out that Dotterals are around Choseley Drying Barns so hopefully see them tomorrowlaughing  Then shoot up to NWT Holme to see if the Red Breasted Flycatcher is still about

It was a great view on the 7th but as per planetary movements is changing each night.....we had late cloud so I missed a second view last night. frown

Great link brue, thanks. It was Jupiter I saw. I've tried night sky apps but not got on well with them. This link seems to make things much clearer for this uneducated idiot 😉

Took advantage of a sunny afternoon with a trip to Slimbridge yesterday. Lovely to see so many chicks wandering about, so thought about sharing.

Flamingos doing what they do and a Greylag Goose family with a tired little fella.

Speaking of Greylag, where is pappa greylag these days?
