Flowers have 5 petals. Cream coloured with yellow specks. Bell shaped and the flower is spread out along the stalk until the top when they are clustered but would spread out if the stalk grew any further. These are growing on the bank of a shallow ditch, usually shaded with water congregated in the ditch keeping the bank damp. The plants are clumped in groups of about 5-10. Will have to try to get to grips with photos.

I had a look in in my Collins book which has photos but couldn't identify it. Hairy stems, geranium like leaves, cream bell shaped flowers. there are a few which might fit but don't quite match. Unless it's an escaped garden plant? Is it one of these, taken in my garden just now? This is a type of Tiarella.

Ta, Brue but not that one. That has too many flowers and the ones on "mine" have very small flowers. My stem seems to grow straighter as well.
Don't think it would be an escapee as no gardens nearby, mainly parkland and agricultural fields for cattle. I'll PM NTH with the photo (ta NTH).

Took a slow stroll around our local mini nature reserve having heard rumours of a family of Otters, only to find a Mute Swan nest where the Otters were seen the day before. Not sure which is the male, but we arrived just as the sitting bird gave way to the mate to incubate the 5 eggs. Nest being about 10 yards from the main pathway through the reserve and in full view.

White tailed Eagle and Osprey in the area of Buckenham Marshes/Strumpshaw so if time allows will pop over today, if not they will hopefully still be around tomorrow. The Sea Eagle has been floating around the area for a couple of weeks now

Posted on 02/05/2017 10:03 by OneputtOur quick overnight trip to Pendle Hill didn't produce any Dotterals but see Golden Plover and Grey Wagtail.
On to Malham Cove and sat watching Peregrine on nest of 4 eggs. Plenty of Wheatears and meadow pipits about

Sorry you dipped on the dotterel, Oneputt, especially after making the long trip to see them. We walked up Pendle this afternoon and had no luck either. In fact saw very little at all. Very windy though, I struggled to walk in a straight line at the top, so maybe the birds have gone elsewhere. Will try again next week.....

Not a problem Pliers, we had a great time and saw plenty. On Pendle there were Golden Plovers incl young, Meadow Pipits and Skylarks, Grey Wagtails.
At the top of Malham Cove we spent a lovely hour or so watching the female Peregrine on the nest, Wheatear, Tree pipits etc..
Can't say the drive back through Bradford was as enjoyable although it provide a level of entertainment

We have a large Badger set at the top of the field where we walk our dog, OH often seen the badgers on the large grass verge by the road on his way to work in the mornings at 3 am.
This week while out with our dog, we were surprised to see the badger out and about in the middle of the afternoon, luckily saw the badger before the dog so were able to tell him to stay! OH even managed to get a photo Amazing to see considering there is a large housing estate just on the other side of the road. They have been seen in gardens along there sometimes. Will be on the lookout now when walking the dog from now on.
