How's your footy team doing?

I'm starting this thread again because it seems to have been a casualty of the change over to the new site. The Terriers scecured another away win last night at Burton. Two wins in a row now after a barren spell. It'll all go pear shaped on Friday when we go to Norwich because the game is to be televised , we haven't won on the telly for ages.

We're having a rest from the greedy league tomorrow. It's the magic of the cup, so it's off to Bolton to see the wanderers. A banana skin looms.

I'm guessing a certain Nottingham  Forest supporter will have a broad grin on her face right now!

Well done Forest and cue Arsene's usual whinge about refereeing standards! wink

M,  he  was  not  close  enuff  to  see  any  hypothetical  refereeing  slips,  too  many  fans  waving  meat  pies  in  front  of  him !!

Certainly  hope  Pauline  was  there  to  enjoy  the  fun,  it  would  have  made  her  immediate  area  about  10  or  so  degrees  warmer  !!

We've  not heard from Pauline for a while and when we did she seemed to be a bit down in the dumps with Forest 's form or lack of it. Sunday's result should have put a smile on her face, it's always nice to beat the holders. Town did it a long time ago when Wolves were the holders and we were in the old second division. Also we were just Town then not Terriers.

PS it was a big mistake taking the GS to Bolton on Saturday. He's now got a taste for the away match experience, 90 plus minutes standing and singing.

"When can we go again Gdad"🙄

Glad you both enjoyed the game, 4th round draw tonight, my fingers are crossed for another home tie, but I expect your grandson's hoping for another exciting away trip. I still remember my 1st night match, as a young kid, many years ago. Pure magic. 😊

Stop  those  reminiscences  please  Pliers,  you've  reminded  me  of  midweek  matches  with  Wednesday  2:30  kick  off  --  before  flood  lights  --  needed  torches  to  find  our  cup of Bovril  !

It must be a Grandad/Grandson thing in our family. I remember going to see our village team every other Saturday with my Grandad, standing in the cold and wet under a leaky  lean- to tin roof we grandly called the stand. My first trip to the old Leeds Road was with him to see them in the final of the Barlow Cup against Marsden. We went on a double decker special bus and if I remember Bill Shankley presented the cup, sadly to Marsden.

Managed to beat Bristol City, so we're off to Wemberleeee for the league cup final (or whatever they call it now). Really enjoyed our trip to Bristol, a very good atmosphere and the game could have gone either way until the last minute.

Not sure if we should take the 'van to Denham for the Wembley game, the weather can be dodgy for towing in February..... might book travelodge or similar for a couple of nights, as we did for Bristol.

Need tickets first though 🤔
