How's your footy team doing?

I'm starting this thread again because it seems to have been a casualty of the change over to the new site. The Terriers scecured another away win last night at Burton. Two wins in a row now after a barren spell. It'll all go pear shaped on Friday when we go to Norwich because the game is to be televised , we haven't won on the telly for ages.

I'm pretty sure the match attendance money can't have much impact these days the further up the leagues you go. Yesterday there were 12,000 or so at the JSS, the average ticket price would have been about £10 so £120,000. That wouldn't pay a third of a Man U player's weekly wage.

True, but  despite  their  Crewelty ( innocent )  yesterday  Nutters  County  pulled  17,000  in  that's  over  double  the  regular  attendance.  So  if  a  few  hundred  or  more  stay  on  as  'Regular  Attenders'  they'll  soon  recover  anything  lost  on  the  gate  receipts  yesterday.

I'm a bit late reading this Brian, the gate at the JSS was half the normal gate. That's the magic of the cup 🤓

Rog,  are  you  telling  me  that  it  was  just  the  Glory  of  hosting  a  League  Match  against  Crewe  Alexandra  and  nothing  else  that  got  an  extra  eight  or  nine  thousand  fans  thro  the  gates  at  Notts  County  --  surely  not  surprised

I wouldn't know. What I do know is we've got a very important match on Sunday against Bournemouth. The last time they came to the JSS they stuffed us 4-0 and our manager resigned immediately after the match.

They beat us 4-0 at their place earlier in the season and played most of the second half with 10 men. As Sir Alex would say its squeaky bum time.

Managed a draw away against second placed Derby so a fair result.  Roll on next weekend, local derby against the tractor boys

Do  hope  you  get  a  worthwhile  result  against  Bournemouth,  Rog.

Certainly  hope  the  'Red Button'  report  of  your  game  is  a  lot  better  than  Crewe's  was  today.  It  was  about  as  welcoming  as  some  posts  on  "What's  tha'  at  now ?",  but  with  hope  for  improvement  !

Well  at  least  you  managed  to  SCRAPE  a  LUCKY three  points  today,  Rog,  Altho'  I'm  hearing  that  the  REF  was  seen  out  last  night  COURTING  one  of  the  Huddersfield  Club  Secretaries  and  he  was  heard  promising  her  the  very  Earth.surprised

And  a  well  deserved  three  points  for  that  nice  Mr  Benitez  or  some such  up  there  in  Nippy  Newcastle  innocent  .

For some reason my GS thinks Mr Oliver is a good ref. I didn't see anything to disprove that yesterday.

The Terriers just about dragged themselves out of the bottom three with a very good performance and the second 4-1 win in the week!

Now it's on to the magic of the cup next week, Man U back at the JSS and after the way they played at Newcastle yesterday I believe we could just, maybe, possibly, perhaps have a slight chance of getting into the next round 🤞🤞🤞
