Words that I dislike

OK, I'll hold my hands up to that one. But surely there are far worse things to call the little blighters.

Oners, never had you down for an old fuddy-duddy, you need to "get down with the kids", sorry, I meant to say you need to "get down with the young persons"!! 

The words "bolero" and "boy" in close proximity can be a little irritating!! 

"It's a joke!!" 

Moulsey as I get older I do get the grumps more often.

Any thing ending in "oligy" where did that come from, ie Methodoligy?  

'Work', it conjures up many horrific thoughts.

Nothing  at  all  wrong  with  " Work"           !!  Its  just  the same  as  scenery  'cos  I  can ( and  do ) spend  hours  just  watching  it  {  An  old  habit,  picked  up  early  in  my  employed  years  }     

Seriously  though,  I  find  I'm  getting  less  &  less  tolerant  of  those  American"isms"  that  are  taking  over  !!  Skedules,  Lootenant,  ( heard  that  one  on  Mastermind  this  week  !! )

What words don't you like? 

I dislike the word Kid used in the context of children

Kids are  young goats, human beings have children

Write your comments here...I used this in a thread a few weeks ago (kids ) only goats have kids it is children the smarties came in and said the English dictionary said kids are young people maybe in my mind they are CHILDREN.
