We used to camp at Wincanton, that was a heck of a long walk back down to the facilities there. 😁

It depends where you pitched. We really liked that site and it was superb for dogs.

We stayed there once, we were sited quite near to the facilities.    Did not realise EHU was only 10amps, so managed to trip the bollard!

We were looking at Edinburgh, it says pretty much full for all pitches January through to March.........we do not believe that can be the case!    Something odd going on!!

I remember Breakspear Way, Hemel Hempstead.  Stayed there a number of times, as OH used to have to go to meetings there a couple of times a year.  I used to go into London for the day from there, it was very convenient for that, good transport links, very close to the M1, and surprisingly quiet considering where it was.

For us it was noisy, I suppose it depends on what you are used to.   Stayed there in 1999.

Maybe, KjellNN.  Longleat sounds worse....  not one single serviced pitch available for the next 12 months.   Certainly something going on.

Yes, we were pitch fairly close to the facilities. Such a pity it closed. The one we really miss is the Wenlock Edge site.

Plus, of course, all this nonsense with the latest posts in various categories after the "essential maintenance", it does not make life easy, or make one want to come on CT.

I have noticed that there are far fewer posts on here than there used to be, in all categories.

We often used the Wincanton site to break the journey if we were travelling on the A303. Its closure left a gap.

At the time it closed I contacted the racecourse operator and asked if there were plans to continue running the site away from CAMC. Unfortunately, there were not.

My problem is that I often get to CT late at night essential maintenance has often kicked in...
