Peace and tranquility has been established. Since Christmas morning we have had our elder son, his wife and her two children, plus a girlfriend who have been staying with us and we decanted to the motorhome at the bottom of the garden to allow them use of the bedrooms. They went home today back to London and we are now recovering. The glass recycling bin is embarrassingly full of bottles!!!

Posted on 24/12/2016 13:10 by IanHMalcolm......you really do need someone to hold your hand don't you?
Nothing you have said would increase your car insurance to the astronomical amounts you are paying. You should be paying a few hundred pounds for each car.
So basically, you are spending thousands of pounds unnecessarily.......simple as that.
Do you really enjoy working all night just to pay unnecessary bills? And making Mrs M do the same?
Or are you just winding us all up?
Merry Christmas.

Could it be that as Malcolm lives in his caravan, he cannot keep his car(s) in his garage or on his driveway, so that is pushing the price up?
Also, with only a small NCD on his first car, he has not been given a good "starter discount" on the second car.
All that, added to needing business use, and not just what I would consider ordinary business use but being a delivery driver, is bound to push up the premiums.
They do however seem excessively high, could be Malcolm has some other previous claim that is still being held against him and did not have a full NCD before the bumper incident.

So after a good nights sleep feeling a bit more human again. Lovely sunny day today and not cold.
Went out to get some food shopping as the fridge was looking very empty, now fully stocked and ready for some nice simple, hot and uncomplicated meals. Cruise food is OK but I wish they would serve some food that has not been messed about with, everything ends up tasting the same.
Sad to say not the best cruise we've been on,it could be awhile before we are willing to give it another one ago, was nothing like any other one we've been on looking forward to getting the van back in the New Year and going away, hope this lovely mild weather lasts.

Well TG you don't know til you've tried it, sorry to hear the cruise wasn't as good as you hoped it would be. I remember getting fed up with the food on our one and only cruise, I was longing for something plain and simple.
edit Mind you I still have a cruise or two that I'd like to try in the future.

Yes brue, a was a bit disappointing food wise, way too many weird concoctions served and food not hot on arrival, really hate it when food has been well cooked to be served barely warm. We've had 11 other cruises so there was no excuse really as we know it can be done sooooo much better, bit off putting but we are made of stern stuff and no doubt will get over it in awhile and think again about another one, however not with TUI.
Just been catching up with posts on here, interesting to hear so many have been troubled with horrible coughs/sore throats and colds, considering the posts have come from all over the UK. We too have been affected by this virus while away, we thought at first it was the air-con on the aeroplane but when we have been talking with other passengers on the cruise it would appear that there were lots of them troubled by persistent chesty coughs that were not responding to antibiotics.
Hope everyone is feeling much better now.

Posted on 26/12/2016 20:53 by DavidKlyneI am sorry Brian but personally I don't find it any easier to read, in fact I find it more difficult to read. One problem is that it takes up a lot of space on the forum and in my view is totally unnecessary. My eyesight is not the best in the world but I can see normal posts perfectly clearly so don't need any supposed enhancements if you see what I mean.
