Travelled home this morning after a lovely relaxing weekend away at Moreton in Marsh, first trip of 2019. The site was very quiet and mostly motorhomes π―
We had a mooch round Stow on the Wold and walked to Batsford.
OH has to clean the roof of the van when we got home, the birds must have been using it for target practice ππ Skylights were covered.!!!
OH was asked to change his days at work, has Friday off so we are going to the Peak District next weekend βΊ

Posted on 07/01/2019 17:31 by moulesyGlad you had a good time at M in M, Helen, a lovely site at any time. Unfortunately we can't get away in the van for a while, so feeling very jealous.
Enjoy the Peak District; where are you staying there?

Posted on 06/01/2019 19:44 by TakethedogalongWeβre home again tonight after an great weekend break. Nice CL (College Farm, Alkborough) just for a couple of nights, only just over an hour from home, but so nice to get away. Lucky with our weather as well, bit overcast until this morning, but we sat outside in sunshine for an hour today. Managed to fit in a good little interesting bike ride, and then a decent walk around bird hides down by Trent Falls outlet, where the River Trent meets the mighty Humber! Added bonus of being able to gaze at lovely Yorkshire across the Humber. Hoping to do a few more small little tours to take us into the Spring weather. All depends if we get any snow......

Posted on 07/01/2019 18:10 by HelenandTrevorThanks Moulesy, M in M site is nice especially in the winter, as it's usually quiet. It is getting a bit expensive now though
We are staying on a CL near Buxton, one we haven't used before.
Hope you can get away in the van before too long.

Posted on 07/01/2019 21:29 by nelliethehookerNow that was a sneaky visited!! Were the Oggs back from Pately Bridge and the cafe open? Glad that you managed to get away for a few days.

We decided against Clumber, the kids were still off school so it would have been a bun fight anywhere close to facilities! Just two nights, long enough for a bike ride on the Saturday, and then we packed up and drove down onto Flats to walk with chariot to Trent Falls. Rieves is a touch hefty to push up that hill! The weather was good as well. We are looking to do a few short tours these next few weeks, if weather is kind. The Oggs had just got back, Mrs O was busy in cafe giving things a good clean and doing some baking ready for reopening on 10th, so we missed out. Mr O and the lads were doing something with A I Man, we didn’t enquire what, but there was some heavy bellowing and a bit of ‘hoy, hoying’ so we are guessing lots of little calves will be making an appearance! There were some gorgeous little ones in pens, not very old. Just pondering on where next........won’t be too far away.π€

Posted on 05/01/2019 09:31 by brueTG and Millie. We've had that too but this time I handed over music sheets going back thirty years to primary school! Unbelievably daughter no 2 sat and looked at the scale books and discussed them with her musician partner. I have more for them to pour over soon....
We have an air frost today so bang go my camellia flowers that have been brightening up the view. Heaviest frost so far this winter, must get OH to check the van.
David, I hope it won't be long before your van is back on the road, pleased to hear Bailey recognised the fault.

Thanks Brue. Actually, Bailey, or any other manufacturer are not actually accepting responsibility for all the axle problems that are occurring. They are saying things like, they think the caravan might have been overloaded at sometime during its ownership, but as a 'gesture of goodwill' they are agreeing to replace our axle. Unfortunately, not everyone is getting the 'gesture of goodwill' letter, and some are being left with a huge bill! We were one of the lucky ones!

Yesterday I started raising the framework for the fixed bed to improve the access through the garage hatch. The standard setup has the framework blocking off the top four inches or so of the hatch aperture. Talk about crap design. It makes you wonder how such a basic error gets through the design stage.
