Tied to the cooker today, Christmas cakes, apple pies and crumbles, visiting dog under my heels. Managed to have a nice walk with him in the sunshine. Hoping to see something of the Leonid Showers in the east tonight, had a look last night but no luck. Good clear skies just now.

Will  that  be  a  late  night  then  Brue,  ??  or  an  early  morning  ??  or  even  an  all  nighter  savouring  those  gorgeous  smells  from  the  storage  area  and  checking  no  naughty  Christmas  Elves  sneak  in  for  an  illicit  picnic  laughing

Very rash day yesterday, we ordered a new motorhome. Been thinking about it for some time now but couldn't make up our minds whether to go for a van conversion. Having thought long and hard about it we decided that the accommodation would be a bit tight for us which outweighed the other benefits. Bailey have introduced a middle range called Alliance based on their Advance range so we have decided on the Alliance 66-2 which is quite a bit smaller than our current model but gives more room inside than a van conversion would. Delivery in March!

Beautifully bright day. Took ourselves to Harwich to see willow sculpture of submarine on the beach. German subs were surrendered to Harwich after WW1. I started a thread about it and I included some photos HERE

Drove home against a very low fireball sun. 😲😲causing traffic to slow at times when it was straight ahead, left the A12 just as the traffic really slowing, by the time we'd got to go over the road it was stationary and queuing on the slip road!

City now light up for Christmas - watched the fireworks, short but very pretty, from the lounge window over the rooftops. Not quite so noisy this year! Will take our evening dog walk tomorrow to have a gander.

Had a phone call this afternoon. Mrs WNs aunt was found dead by her uncle when he called around to see why she wasn't answering the phone. It was her birthday today as well.

We'll be glad to see the back of this year.

Thanks one and all.

Losing a parent like HD and Brue is very traumatic, especially as anniversaries roll around. Good luck and best wishes to them.

Having lost my mother and father at a relatively early age I miss being able to talk to them as an adult. MIL describes Mrs WN as her best friend which I think is marvellous for them both. Treasure those around you.
