Woke up to fog this morning not something we get a  lot of here. Not feel so great again today still headache and feeling tired, bit queezy too.  Had an appointment for Pneumococcal jab this morning but cancelled it until I feel better.

Didn't sleep very well woke up at 5am and couldn't get back off, head spinning with lots of things going round and round, wish we had an off switch.

Sun now out and can see patches of blue sky, still cold out though OH tells me.

OH still sorting out the visa's, its going to be a very expensive cruise. Oh well just means the kids get less when we 'pop off' laughing will need to speak to practice nurse as I think our 'holiday' vaccines need renewing.

MillieH hope all goes well with OH's Op.

Would agree with some of those comments CY.

We had our MH for 6 years. No issues with parking it at home, setting up on arrival we've not found it to be that much different to be honest due to division of labour wink The loss of space for us didn't happen as the MH and caravan are of equal size, although the bathroom in the caravan has more space due to the layout.

Flexibility - we find we have more with the caravan once on site as we have the car to visit further afield. OH never liked moving the van for the day to go somewhere and while we did try visiting things on the way to our next stop it was a bit of a hit and miss.

The biggest downfall we think with the caravan is the lack of sites in France after the end of September, while the MH's can stay out longer and use the many Aires. We never did use aires but it was always there as a backup should we need to. Just need to plan a bit more with a caravan.

All in all this last trip we found to be more relaxing, we still use the bikes but now they are for fun, rather than a means of transport. Like you said maybe the novelty will wear off in a few trips, especially if we get bad weather.

We have discussed what next and as it stands just now it will be a PVC, can't believe that we are even thinking about one as its not long ago we both agreed we would not go there.

Apologies for going off thread.

We are much the same as you TG we have been back caravanning for a year now and love it. Its great having the car again while on holiday also we have much more space in our caravan than we did in our motorhome even although the MH was larger. We have however just bought a little classic 25 year old camper which is a short wheelbase we intend to use it for days out as it is car sized so easy to park. We are looking forward for going out for the day and being able to make tea when out. It is small so we dont intend to use it for nights away we will still be using the Cvan for holidays and weekends we may use the camper now and again if we only go away for 1 night (rare)

Finally finished cleaning the anaglypta and plaster skim off the bathroom ceiling. It's actually a reasonable artex finish underneath, so after a bit of remedial work in a couple of places, it should be good for a couple of coats of vynil silk emulsion. Glad the cleaning off is finished though. It really makes your arms ache working overhead.

What a wet miserable day in North Norfolk it has not stopped raining and still is since the early hours it is now 1700 ,one upside have been able to just wipe the muck off the car and caravan and the rain has rinsed it ,they both now look very clean cool

And you have heard it here first

I have been in comunication with the club in respect of what is for some a very vocal subject (Dogs and other pets on sites)and have been "advised" that the booking system is being looked at and that it is hoped will be as part of the latest booking system a question regarding pets in your party, surprised

That's an interesting bit of news JVB I wonder if this will be initiated.

Nice and sunny here today but cold, going out to our local tonight for a meal with the family, a lot of packing going on here so we'll all have a night off. smile

Ps I was also advised the charging for Pets is not part of the plan as it is apreciated  by the members, but the info would help for the future to identify the ownership of pets for ( "marketing?my thoughts)

TG

Interesting review of the two forms of LV. We changed  from a caravan because it was becoming stressful getting in and out of our back garden and hitched up because of parked cars constantly making it difficult. In fact Margaret used to get so wound up about it that I sometimes wondered how we ever got away. Such a different situation with the motorhome which we can just drive out of the garden and park somewhere. I can't see us ever going back to a caravan. However we are seriously thinking of downsizing to something like a PVC which I think would give us the opportunity to get out and about. All I know is without a car we get a lot more exercise that we would with one!
