I stopped for about 3 years as well Sell in 2002. Lost my wife in 1996, Started running a singles group 1998, and met a lady who became my partner in 2000 having been a friend for 2 years. I was able to take 12 weeks off work, she was initially out of work and had taken early retirement from teaching due to ill health, for the next two years we went away with the singles group for holidays abroad, road trips, weekends etc and were still able to get 8 weeks in the caravan. Then she started work again and her leave gave us 2 x 2 weeks holidays abroad, An odd week abroad and a handful of long weekends so no time for caravanning as well as a couple. In 2004 Fliss moved in with me and in 2005 I persuaded her that she could afford to retire again and in 2005 we bought a car and caravan, I reduced to a 4 day working week and we were able to get away 10 weeks of the year and still have long weekends with friends. In 2008 I took early retirement and now we are away and caravanning 17 weeks of the year.
So, like me, you may return to the fold. Good luck

We had a similar discussion a few years back, regarding use.
So out of the box thinking and the caravan went on a seasonal pitch. Beauty of this apart from the obvious is arrival time restrictions, there aren't any, or booking, come and go as you please, which then makes the caravan fit around other commitments.
Our usage went skywards, best thing we have ever done.
