Thank you all for your kind words, have had a busy last 10 months, both of us hit 60 so have had 2 weeks in Mexico, 1 week in Turkey, 1 week in New York and 1 week in Spain to celebrate which has contributed to us not using the van. Will we be back watch this space.

Good luck with your decision.
We sold our motorhome around this time last year due to lack of use. I lasted around 3 months and couldn't cope with nothing on the driveway to get away in, even though we hadn't used the motorhome much. We ended up buying a small, light, cheapish two berth caravan that costs us very little to keep on the drive but gets us away if we want to. We've got a week away booked for later this year and 3 weekends so far.
Once it's in the blood some find it very difficult to kick the habit

We decided last year to sell after 45 years of touring. Site fees too expensive, Insurance, servicing etc too expensive. Depreciation huge. Doing less away days. Now found we had a week Half Board in hotel in Lakes during December for £199 each. Now cottage in Anglesey for £250 per week. No contest as to value for monies. Also less hassle with parking, silly club rules uncontrolled dogs and moaning members.

This is something that we have been discussing lately. We have volunteered to help our daughter by looking after grandson 2 afternoons per week, other grandparents will also do 2 afternoons, and on Fridays she hopes to have a half day.
This will of course curtail our long caravan tours, and when we can get away we will probably have added hassle if we want to tour abroad. We could of course take him with us!
So far we have booked 2x4 week trips in UK, and hope for a few weeks in September/October too, but keeping a van to use it only maybe 10 weeks per year may not be sensible.
The jury is still out.

Hi, I am looking to sell my motorhome and have been given a quote by a company www.buymymotorhome.com. Has anyone heard of them? Are they a legit company. They said they will come through, inspect the vehicle and transfer money before they drive it away?
Thanks for any help

They have their office on a business park on south western edge of Mansfield. Google Earth shows 10 MH's parked up there. Looks like a kosher outfit but I bet they won't offer top dollar. Probably a bit like WeBuyAnyCar type of operation. Will nit-pick at the smallest scratch.

Sold ours through Autotrader. Very helpful web site and tips for making advert. Despite us being in a remote area, plenty of interest and sold quickly. Got £7K more than dealers were offering. Well worth the effort and plenty of advice to watch out for scammers, how to receive payment etc.
