We've just weather proofed our bricks with waterseal. Clear silicone based liquid. Works wonders.

Bit of a faff spraying the house but we are cheapskates and this costs 15 per tin

Yes, that has done us for last thirty years as well. But we have had some frost damage to some of bricks down the years, some spalling in places. Company were touting for business, we saw what they had done to a neighbours house, which looked really good, and on the plus side, it counts towards the Energy Efficiency rating for the house at sale time, so we thought go for it! Has got us interested in some renovation inside and out again as well, so motivating as well!

Had a lovely afternoon in garden, cutting back plants for above work ( lots of clematis, Passion flowers, other plants close up to house), now off to see SIL to deliver some beads, we are doing stuff to sell combined with a Macmillan Fund Coffee and Cake afternoon!

BIL enjoyed his trip out to SWT Carlton Marsh.  We manage to spot a fair amount of wildlife. Hopefully this little outing will be the catalyst for further improvement in his conditions.

On supper duty this evening as Mrs One is out with her cub group.

Glad your BIL is out and about again OnePutt. Cancer can be so life changing, not just physically but confidence sapping mentally as well, so great if he is up for going out, doing something different.

Wherenext, Suffolk and Norfolk could be on cards for us after Xmas, but in cottages this time. We know North Norfolk quite well, but not Suffolk, so some very new places to visit!laughing

If I was feeling poorly I can think of nothing better than a wildlife outing with someone like you to instruct me OP  I hope your weather was as good as ours.

Well done to your youngest son H&T.  Will he be driving down to see you soon? laughing

Thanks Millie, hopefully he will drive down soon. His girlfriend is going to add him onto her car insurance to start with, he will still use the tram to get to work in Manchester.

Thanks Millie but my BIL is the expert, his knowledge of bird calls is truly encyclopaedic.

TDA, Not only is he recovering from cancer he had a hip replacement about a month ago so life has dealt him a hard life.

WN the weather here is meant to improve for the next couple of weeks, enjoy Suffolk
