Living in a Caravan Vs Living in a house

Have decided to start a new thread so not to take over the what your doing discussion.

The question / discussion is the benefit of living in a caravan on a club site and moving every 21 days to living in a brick built solid home.

For me apart from the investment angle is -Holidays away in the van, if you lived in one then it's no longer a mobile holiday home.

What do others think.

I was referring to your Aquaroll!

First you said the water in it was frozen, then you said it was empty, and you  could use it to fetch more water.

So I was saying it is fortunate it has thawed out.

Bit of a pain that your drains are still frozen though, not something that happens in our house as it is very well insulated and the drains are too far underground for the frost to affect them.

Some places in Norway, where it can get down below -30 sometimes, have that problem, the trick is to leave the hot water tap trickling overnight, or these days to install trace heating.

It was not frozen solid, Kj. It was only partially frozen so that water from the Aquaroll wouldn't come into the tap. So my wife brought hot water from the site dishwashing area hot water tap and used hot water around the outside to melt the ice sufficiently so that it could be emptied. Then she filled it with fresh water and used the internal caravan pump to fill the internal tank.

As long as she does this on a regular basis Malc, it should be fine 👍👍 Tell her to wrap up though, its cold out there.

It wouldn't sit well with me but having met Mr and Mrs M it certainly doesn't surprise me

Did you no suggest that she took the toilet cassette to empty to save a trip later?

So, it's day two of being in the house. Nice and warm (glad the tenant is paying!) Guess what, I must be very different to most folk as I can't wait to get out of here and back on the road in the van. Cornwall is callingwink

We are off in the van next Thursday, just love it

Haven't managed to clean the outside of the van after the last trip.  The towing cover is still on so that will save us a joblaughing

I should wait for the snow to clear from down here first, JK. smile

She didn't empty it in the dishwashing area. She brought hot water over to the caravan in a water container to pour over the Aquaroll that was next to our caravan.
