You can have anything you like put on a show plate just as Mollysmummy says.  I bought one for photo shoots.

The problem occurs when you use them on a vehicle on a public road.

Get on youtube Admiral and have a look at how many deal with this type of "harassment" these days from those that seem to have nothing better too do Undecided. Its a real eye opener.Take the road traffic "act" for instance.Acts are NOT laws for a start and when stopped you are under no obligation too answer any questions not even your name. Also to everybody i say get your mobile phone out and record everything that is said and done for your own protection and future reference.

peter.

Write your comments here...If you are stopped for any offence, and refuse to answer any questions then you can be arrested.

We still haven't found out what the dastardly deed was tho'.

I agree with TF, in my force we usually dealt with it by way of a VDRS, but in some circumstances a ticket was warranted.

Do they still make you walk the plank

Or

Keep haul you?

Mind you there are a lot of personalised plates that are iffy!

On the subject of personalised registrations, can anyone explain to me why so many people choose the digits "666" for their plates? Seems like tempting fate to me! Undecided

TF, I was stopped due to incorrect spacing as follows

MR13 YNG    This is deemed to be correct and legal

MR 13YNG This is why I was stopped as it is illegal and fined £100, petty or what ?

Other numbers that i have noted are far worse than mine such as

J1LL  J,  T4FF  P, RB  V12, S  5TUD, S  80WRN, and a real gem that I saw last week at the Heritage Motor Museum at Gaydon    F1  0MFG (honest I even took a photo of it on a Porche 911)

Write your comments here...If true it was petty, but why on earth would you display it like that?
