Disposal of waste water

During our last recent couple of breaks away, I have noticed that people are not disposing of their waste water correctly. Instead of going to the site points, they are walking up and down behind caravans, the side of their units just letting it pour out. Surely when the warm weather comes, things will begin to smell and cause rats.

Of course some MHers empty their fresh tanks as they depart. We don't, but I can imagine that about 200 litres would form quite an impressive streak. 🤣.

I don't dump fresh water either escept a home but I've seen it dumped on a pitch before but never seen anything gushing forth as motorhomes drive away. As you say even the smallest vans could leave quite a puddle

The only times we dump fresh water are as you say at home or if leaving a site where we have picked up unpleasant and / or very hard water.

Just bear in mind that on the east coast, we haven’t seen any rain to speak of - for weeks. That may have something to do with it. That said, I’m due to take our awning down today, so that might change things🌧

The problem of motor caravans dumping waste water ,by driving of sites with their waste valve open ,is hilighted, we have noticed on several sites a notice asking those who do to not do it

And as stated it is actually illegal to travel with as said an unsafe load that can lead to a prosecution

The cases of caravaners letting waste overflow onto pitches has been going on for years and as highlighted by JK

Our 15 years of age Autosleeper  waste is fine as I use a waste container under the the open waste tap,

Saves a queue at the Motor caravan pointcool

Ps keep. the 50ltre fresh tank topped up with a watering can which  I take to any service point on the site when I empty the fiamma waste water container wink

Does it not depend what the water has been used for?  We do not shower in our van so our waste water is from hand washing, teeth cleaning

I wash up in the van but never pour the water into the onboard tank I take the washing up bowl to the drain or pour into the hedgerow.  I don't see this as a problem I also do this at home onto our garden and we have never had any unpleasant smells and certainly never seen a rat in our garden

If you see me on site why not come and have a chat about it most people are happy to talk on site or alternatively speak to the helpful wardens

I'm thinking of investing in a never full folding bucket similar to one I spotted about a year ago.  A cleverly designed / modified silicone folding bucket with a mesh bottom.  To use place an inch or so of gravel donated from the pitch into the bucket, place the bucket under the open waste outlet and mysteriously it never fills or overflows.  Labour saving magic 😂.

But messes up the pitch instead undecided
