It's good to hear that members of CT are receiving their vaccinations, good luck to all those yet to have theirs. It seems like a long haul till we get everyone sorted and hear the results of the present vaccines.

I'm leaving this open for non political comments as per the guidelines. Hope you can add your own experiences and thoughts.

My first jab comes up tomorrow, I'm so glad we have research institutions that have got us this far! And I am planning breaks away in the hope of improvements on the horizon.

Adding another four weeks will not affect me in any way, but I do realise that it was necessary and prudent and good for people who have not been vaccination yet and of course those coming up to their second dose.

They had enough notice of the G7.,it did not just happen overnight

Actually, they were given no notice of arrangements, naturally.

However, that is OT.

JV, do you have any concept of how on a knife edge the Cornish economy is in a normal year, let alone during a pandemic, with service and hospitality provision way down? A huge percentage of the working population down there exist on either a six month year, or have at least two, sometimes three or four different jobs they juggle merely to exist?

I am still at a loss as to what the whole G7 circus achieved to be honest, beyond a huge income boost to a tiny select number, and a vast amount of inconvenience to many more.🤷‍♀️ PM had a nice swim, Americans might just be a bit more aware of that strange boot shaped bit of land on toe end of England, but to be honest Aidan Turner and Eleanor Tomlinson probably achieved more in way of publicity. I would hazard a guess St Ives was chosen because it’s relatively easy to stick behind a huge fence, and Boris didn’t dare tackle Sturgeon about using anywhere they usually go in Scotland, like Gleneagles.🤷‍♀️

I actually  agree holding G7   anywhere at all was unwise but  that is a side issue  to the effects throughout  the country on thousands in the hospitality and travel industry of adopting  an overcautios approach  simply to get more of the population vaccinated.  If it's so important  and I think it is,   even more resources should be thrown at it and only medically  exempt allowed to duck it. We cant have the lives  rest of the population in permanent limbo by the actions of those refusing to have it.

More resources could be thrown at it if there were the people to around to staff it.  From those that manage the car parking and queues to the clinicians supervising the vaccinations there just are not enough.

Supplies are fine, it's the lack of staffing at every level that is the problem.
