It's good to hear that members of CT are receiving their vaccinations, good luck to all those yet to have theirs. It seems like a long haul till we get everyone sorted and hear the results of the present vaccines.

I'm leaving this open for non political comments as per the guidelines. Hope you can add your own experiences and thoughts.

My first jab comes up tomorrow, I'm so glad we have research institutions that have got us this far! And I am planning breaks away in the hope of improvements on the horizon.

I don't know but isn't your NHS number required to book an appointment?

That is the case up here, if so then how would they be able to give false names etc.

You are correct, you do need your NHS number but on TV last week there was a programme about a DSS fraudster who was registered with another doctor's practice in a different name in a different area. I suspect that there are numerous people doing that as people can simply change their names by Deed Poll, to enable them to claim benefits in different areas, so perhaps they obtain different NHS numbers as well .

NHS#, name, address, doctors surgery🤷🏻‍♂️. Then repeated again on turning up. I would expect the walk in would need to see you & an on line check done.

It's usually a combination of three things.  The most common being NHS#, DoB, and Name.  You don't necessarily have to be registered with a GP surgery.

Corner-At least Cardiff people will have done their bit. Between 80/90%s double vaccinated and similar with boosters.Perhaps its the clear, non huffing way the first minister lays out restrictions and guidance like today- taking the population with him.

He does generally seem to be doing a good job. However, threatening to fine folk for travelling to their place of work, rather than working from home. Whilst it is still OK to travel to the pub, was hardly his finest hour.

An awful lot of trouble for an anti-vaxxer to go to just to cause a problem.

You don't know that at all Fish! You keep blaming everyone but you in this I'm afraid. As I said keep yourself safe, that's all you have to worry about, or rather all you can do.

I have to agree with you on that.

Whilst I agree nothing would surprise me!!! Having said that if certain vaccination centres were suddenly starting to get a lot of cancellations I am sure suspicions would be raised? It is always possible that some may have genuinely booked an appointment in one place but happened to be near a Walk in Centre and gone there instead, then perhaps forgotten to have cancel the original. For the sort of scam to be successful a large number of appointments would have to be booked in order to disrupt a vaccination centre and I imagine people would be looking into it?

Some emotional stuff here.No one has been fined for going to work and the rule (for the safety of staff) has been in place from the begining. No one is blaming anyone, just stating what is reported as a discussion. In the end it is up to us to take rsponsibility ourselves and  as a family we have done so. No meeting over XmaS and basically self isolation until we see the outcome of the disease. My grouse is the idiocy of people with 2 years of research, statistics etc that shows the vaccination is your best bet as being safe, go out of their way to put others at risk.

And also you have to remember that even being double/tripled vaccinated a person can still catch and pass on Covid.
