Started a new thread , let the old one run out.

Unfortunately the title is missing a E and a M but you know what it means . Unless anyone knows how to alter the title

Possibly, Paulsy,  but  most  folks  now  either  bung  them  in  the  washing  machine  with  a  couple  of  towels  or  similar,  or  just  wear  them  until  they  get  replaced.

Was  that at  Chesterfield  in 1975  or  1976,  Roger  'cos  I  can't  remember

1975 I think Brian we were on Anglesey at the time it was early in the week and the weather picked up dramatically by the Friday the sun was cracking the flags

I  remember  those  two  summers  very  well, Roger --  '75  I  seem  to  recall  was  not  to  everybody's  taste  'cos  they  were  not  used  to  wearing  shorts  etc  all  the  time,  but  by  '76  we'd  forgotten  about  that  &  just  enjoyed  the  sun.  Seemed  almost  'overdressed'  in  cricket  flannels  when  the  fans  were  in  very  short  shorts !!

'76 was the year we got our first caravan, a Sprite 400. Our first long trip was to Cornwall to a club site near St Austell, there were some kind of flying beetles as big as golf balls, well they seemed like that when they flew into the car windscreen.

I remember in the early cold mornings having to push the car, along with helpful neigbours to get it started.

or to start with a handle, that could give you a painful wrist.

The crank. I remember my Dad using it, if you weren't careful it could leap back and get you!

Some  people  even  had  the  starting  handle  arrangement  fitted  to  their  minivan,  but  you  did  have  to  put  the  steering  onto  full  lock  in  order  to  insert  the  handle  !!

I remember when nostalgia WAS what it used to be; if I remember correctly, that is. But, there again, my memory is not as good as I seem to remember it being ...
