I remember when I went to the dentist as a child to have a tooth extracted, the big black mask covering my nose to put me out. I was so scared   -   but I got the dentist back, I wet myself in his chair !!!!

I remember one particular visit to the dentist. It was a two bus ride and like Paulsy  I had a general anaesthetic and whilst under the gas I relived the whole journey right up to the moment I sat in the chair. I woke up just as I was getting into the chair in my dream.

On another occasion I had an appointment to see the school dentist, I got as far as the door and bottled it.

I remember when my dear old mum used to warm a house brick in the oven for me to take to bed when I was little....she would wrap it in an old sheet and put in my bed to keep me warm.

I remember when on many occasions my Mum could not spare a shilling for the electric meter so we were in sitting by candlelight before being sent off to bed.

I remember when we had to paint on whitener for our white canvas school plimsoles, had a distinctive aroma, I wonder if that is still available to buy.
