What does your water contain?

  • As we are all into health being caravanners- This should interest just about everyone! About 3 weeks ago I was contacted by my son who asked me to go to YouTube and watch a video called ' The journey of water' This video is of a lecturer in front of a class telling them about the appalling state of our water and the tricks and chemical manipulation used to blind us to the truth about what we are drinking from our taps. Now, this video is American but I can assure you( with photographic evidence) that our water is just as bad. Having watched the video, I immediately ordered a water distiller and have been drinking completely pure water now for two and a half weeks. I won't bore you here with the ins and outs but my photo- the first one I have ever put on CT- shows the crud, filth and deposits from just 20 lts of our tap water distilled through my machine!! I would have drunk this under normal circumstances and the smell is appalling by the way!! I replace the minerals in it by using dissolvable mineral sea salt (half a teaspoon in 4 lts which is the capacity of my machine) I invite you all to watch this video and to see just what you are consuming in what should be, the purest drink you can get. He also covers bottled water and filtered water - that will be an eye opener too. Having said that, well filtered water is much better than nothing and being non EHU, that's what I will have to do while away. Have I noticed a difference- yes! My joints don't ache so much and I have more energy! Coincidence? I doubt it. I'm not consuming 80,000 chemicals including estrogen! Petro chemicals , pesticides and goodness knows what else!

An industrial solvent, fuel and feedstock for the synthesis of numerous other chemicals.

An IARC listed Group 1 Carcinogen.

A highly addictive neurotoxic chemical, that can cause death at as low a concentration in the blood as 0.4% and sustained exposure can cause significant permanent damage to the brain and other organs.

A teratogen, with proven links to birth defects.

A volatile, flammable, colourless liquid, with characteristic odour.

A psychoactive drug that induces numerous negative physiological changes to the human body.

One of the oldest drugs known to man.

…..often willingly consumed by all manner of respectable people in pints of amber liquid at up to 5% volume solution, up to 12-14% volume solution in transparent through to deep red grape based solutions and up to 40% volume solutions with a chunk of ice!

(...just make sure the water in the ice is distilled, because you would not want to consume any nasty 'chemicals' wink)

My own filters seem to be doing a good job up to now, although the on board tank gets full annoyingly quicklyfrown

 Lol me too!

Im sure I used to be able to process a gallon easily as a younger lad though....now I seem to struggle with half that amount or suffer and extended 'regeneration cycle' for a few days after!

Definitely the vintage of the equipment! 😀

Apologies if this has been mentioned before, as I have not read all 10 pages.

If we all decided to distil our water in this manner, would it not mean a lot of extra electrical energy would be required, or would there be savings somewhere else in the cycle?

I simply think that  if Distillation was a realistic cost option the Water Companies would already be using that process but i am sure some one would object due to the health implications.

Spot on JCB,  it would not be cost effective at all / the consumer would have to pay a considerable amount more.... Particularly when you consider what percent of your water you drink,  vs flushing down the loo,  in the bath / shower,  on the car,  on the garden,  for cooking the sprouts in.

Do you remember coke's desani (?) Marketing failure... Although I think they rebranded and relaunched.  They we're selling the distilled tap water they use in their coke,  with added minerals (because drinking distilled water is not too good for you)  and selling it for the same price / more than a bottle of coke.... Genius!

I always think fuel is cheap. You drill it from miles underground in remote and hostile location,  transport it across the globe,  process it through multi million pound dangerous plants and it still sells for a fraction of the price of a bottle of buxton spring,  that come out of the ground by itself and you think nothing of throwing a half full bottle away! 😄

Regrettably I don't have time to read all the words in this thread but I did  glance at the video. Assuming I have the correct one, it's prepared by an American commercial organisation who presumably are selling distillation equipment. Why anybody would trust a Company to provide independent, scientifically validated, information I do not know. Having the presenter wear a white lab. coat to make it seem authoritative is quite amusing.  So, I didn't watch it. The term "Fake News" sprung to mind.
