As soon as the lockdown is lifted.I ask because both my husband and I are over seventy and my husband has been notified that he is very vulnerable because of some health issues.I was thinking maybe a fully serviced pitch where we can use our own facilities?

We often do a walk from Cubert down to Holywell Bay round the coast path to Porth Joke and back skirting the edge of the golf course at Trevornick, Freddy. Will give you a wave if/when we pass by (might have to be a "virtual" one in July though! smile

(Off thread, I know, but did you get to make that chilli loaf the other day? And how was it?)

I’ve spent lots of happy hours on that course, and used to fish their ponds, perfic. It’s a lovely location, with Holywell Bay just down through  the dunes. Took the kids down there to paddle in the inlet when they were young. Those were the days 🙂

Just as a matter of interest TW did you see anything about these idiots were to be returned to London? Are the trains still running down there or are they maybe sleeping rough in Cornwall somewhere?

Do the police drive them to the border with Devon and shove them over? As I said just wondered.

I read somewhere that the police took the idiots to the station and told them what train to catch, WN. The Penzance-Paddington main line service seems to be running.

You could be ruining more that is Scottish than just a song.

In terms of the changes in rates of infection, admission, and death, Scotland is a few weeks behind England, which is a few weeks behind London. So whatever criteria are used (and whenever) it is likely that things will be allowed to start to relax in south-east England earlier than elsewhere.

How it will be possible to allow the population in different parts of the UK to enjoy different degrees of freedom is taxing much greater minds than mine, but the notion of "closing the border" has been spoken of by politicians - and I am not just thinking of the land border between Scotland and England; Devon, Cornwall, West Wales, Lake District could all be in the same situation.

As well as the later development of the progress of the effects of this virus in remote areas, the degree of remoteness will also be having an effect on keeping down rates of transmission. The last thing the populations in "the north", "the west", or where-ever will want is numerous visitors from afar.

As there are some who cannot comply with "lock-down" instructions in their own home area what hope is there of getting them to comply with a stricter "lock-down" elsewhere once they are allowed out to roam? There are some who will say that desperate situations require desperate actions, as a justification for their vigilante action.

We will go when the sites open again but of course will be careful. When away we normally do a lot of cycling and walking and are generally happy in our own company sitting in/outside the van reading ect. I’d like to think we will get away in the next 2-3 months but certainly wouldn’t bet on it

Posted on 27/04/2020 09:07

This is us when we go away, we keep ourselves to ourselves & we tend not to use facility blocks & stay within our pitch boundaries. We're happy just being away in the Van reading, listening to music etc. Because we will only do what we do at home, we are just as safe in our van as we are at home. As soon as sites reopen we'll be planning our 1st trip.
