Just read a review of Wirral CP site that mentions that the wardens are no longer able to sell basic goods from the reception. They told the reviewer that it was a H.O. management decision.

Is this a regular occurrence elsewhere as I've not seen it mentioned before and not being a regular attendee on club sites would not have come across it?

Should imagine it would affect some members more than others.

A manager where I used to work was a budding Arfur Daley .... he went to buy a boat & took a carrier bag of cash with him. I've no idea how much or where it came from but he had the tax man knocking on his door after the seller reported him 🙄

+1, I have been questioned over a certain amount being deposited. After we talked(Bank teller & me) it was explained it was ‘money laundering’ rules & potential issues to be reported to the national crime agency in truth it wasn’t the amount it was the change in pattern as I invariably used Edeposits. It makes sense & for an easier life for everyone to use cashless money movement as it has a footprint👍🏻

Could be argued of course that it provides a great opportunity to get off site and support local businesses that could probably do with the custom! wink

Not if the nearest shop is 5 miles away and there is no public transport.

 And i detesr UHT milk.

A Motorhome owner  guess  the Club wants us all to tow cars on A frames ?

Your choice Rayjsj, I would rather use UHT semi skimmed than no milk at all. There are also other milk alternatives, powders, evaporated or even condensed.

I thought yours was a PVC, Ray. There’s no issue with nipping out with that.

That  could be an expensive carton of milk!

Better to have the correct information and go prepared.

Absolutely, that's what we do.

I hate UHT milk or any of the other suggestions. So before arriving on site I do a shop, you know how long you are staying it's not hard to work out how much milk you go through.

The cost of acquiring is hardly the point but I find it hard to believe that not everyone goes prepared.

Really?, I think that response is ill thought out & unfair-

Posted on 12/07/2023 16:04

I think it was a perfectly reasonable statement.

I have never seen Sandwiches made at any Club site i have ever stayed on.  So the reference is pointless and irrelovent.

As a dairy farmer, I’m greatly pleased that milk features so high on caravanners’ essentials.
