Pitching Instructions

Has the club abandoned pitching guidelines? I've always been told quite firmly to reverse the van onto a pitch with the nearside corner next to the peg.

I'm currently at Malvern Hills and people are going freestyle with people seemingly pitching in any direction they want.  I wish I'd been told this when I arrived as I would have ignored what I thought was a rule in favour of a better view.

Recently I take it,  as I understand from a site staff  member, it is getting more common overseas to give pitching instructions now as the local bombardiers? are clamping down on the way some sites squeeze LVs insurprised,

Another puzzling aspect is the constant need when a thread on pitching instructions on a club sites has people postings pics about non club sites, even sites abroad as if this has any bearing at all. I think we all know that other non club sites may not pitch to the peg, great, I'm happy people have found what suits them but as people who use club sites maybe 'we' do not need educating as to how there is better out there? Start a new thread if that is one's intention.

Folk certainly need educating CS. Presumably because there are more new members and hire vehicles than normal, we have observed a significant number of RV’s parked incorrectly this year. Sometimes 30cm to a metre off the peg and on at least 6 occasions the wrong side. Perhaps the CAMC need to start conducting folk to their pitch like the C&CC.😉

The site I refer to is Kompas  Camping Niewpoort and we last went there Oct 2019, and they have always been of a "bossy" nature there but its the only place. I used 10 sites just recently in France and Spain and it was never mentioned so I would question  "common"

Edit

Just noticed DK's comment , yes I assume its the same, and although we may not be using it again now Zeebrugge route has gone its a decent site in spite of of the rules and we found it useful

Not really my point Steve, my educating referred to letting people know about better sites being out there than club sites, not on how to pitch, which I agree with you!

But as said upthread I get the 'talk' every single time I arrive at a club site.

The site manager here says this year ,with new members especially ,,they have had to ,give advise on pitching,, and have at times had quite "intense " conversations with a few who think we are just being out of ordersurprised

In fact one refused to move when advised he was much to Close to the next pitch and was going to report the manager ,when told he had 30 mins to move his RV to as the plan on his site map or move off site undecided
