The Club have released more details of the new Booking System here

There are still finer details still to be arrived but the link (thanks Harry) sets out how the new system will work.

I have closed the previous thread on when we will get details of the new booking system and opened this one to allow comments specifically on the new system rather than discussing what they might be.

...any particular reason why, W....?

we do have a small bit of cash on us at most times, but there seems little point in handing it over to the warden and then finding another cash point...

Just to give me the freedom of choice.

I have no doubt that the club has received many communications about the availability of sites particularly at weekends.

However, the introduction of a deposit system is a major policy change and I think that members should be given the opportunity to vote on its adoption or otherwise.

Personally I would prefer a system that limits the number of future bookings that can be made whilst allowing additional bookings say two weeks prior to the booking date.

To give as a few think,, the percieved problem with block booking of ,weekends with the present system ,  it just needed the cancelling period to, as it seems the new system is to be at 21days

I posted the following on page 24 and it’s equally relevant to your comment about a vote Chelty.

"A vote - why? We have an elected council to represent the membership so there is no need to ask each and every one of us.

What you suggest is akin to our Councils or Govt holding referendums each time there is a proposal for change. The elected Councillors and MPs make decisions on our behalf."

Restricting bookings is likely to interfere with an attempt to book a tour and would incur as many moans as the current system.

Whatever, it’s now a decided issue with implementation under way.

You don’t need an internet connection, and you don’t need to unlock an Apple Phone. You put it by the reader, stick one of your totally uniquely coded digits (finger, thumb, toe) on the button, and bingo, transaction complete. 10 seconds max. And yes, you do get a record of how much, where and when on your phone. There’s usually a chorus of “oo that was good, how quick was that” depending on the demographic of the queue😂
