The Club have released more details of the new Booking System here

There are still finer details still to be arrived but the link (thanks Harry) sets out how the new system will work.

I have closed the previous thread on when we will get details of the new booking system and opened this one to allow comments specifically on the new system rather than discussing what they might be.

DK re pay by phone, Google "samsung pay vs google pay" I have at some time registered for both but have never used them generally finding it easier to use a card rather than unlock my phone every time I want to pay for something. Yes I know you can use easy methods than a pin number to unlock a phone but they do always work.

I think payment methods like Apple Pay come into their own when faced with the need to register and enter card details in an App or website like car parking etc. The less information required the better.

Near Field Communication (NFC) has become a more common term in the payments industry over the last few years because it's the technology behind mobile payments.

most credit/debit card payment machines are linked to the web anyway, either broadband or dial up .... unless you were thinking of using the old flick flack credit card machine of about 40 years ago

We haven't heard much from him lately I hope he is ok was a bit poorly last time.

Cheque books - mine seems to only be used for charity draw tickets these days and it was charities who complained the loudest when the banks wanted to scrap cheques

Walking out of Tesco the other day I offered £5 to the Air Ambulance but he said he couldn't take cash, wasn't allowed to, only DDMs. we already have one for them so no good. No card machine either. So the charity was turning down money.

We're like Ttda. Always carry a bit of cash when visiting CLs. Who am I to know which owner declares the cash and which one doesn't? Got better things to worry about.

I have no doubt that the club has received many communications about the availability of sites particularly at weekends.

However, the introduction of a deposit system is a major policy change and I think that members should be given the opportunity to vote on its adoption or otherwise.

Personally I would prefer a system that limits the number of future bookings that can be made whilst allowing additional bookings say two weeks prior to the booking date.
