The Club have released more details of the new Booking System here

There are still finer details still to be arrived but the link (thanks Harry) sets out how the new system will work.

I have closed the previous thread on when we will get details of the new booking system and opened this one to allow comments specifically on the new system rather than discussing what they might be.

Having just received our new membership cards, I am surprised that the club makes no mention to the new rulings.

Surely this would be an opportunity as so many still will not realise the many changes and additional costs.

There are going to be changes, but, other than the usual yearly price increase, not any additional costs? The deposit merely forms part of the overall booking, just paid at a different time๐Ÿค” I did notice that when you do make a booking now, it does mention that at the moment, no deposit will be taken, so an initial paving of the way changes will come about is starting to get out there. Still think a specific email link to each Member is the best way forward though.

A banner on the website, saying new booking system coming soon, your questions answered, might be a good idea. At the moment it is very much hunt a clue. if you don't do social media, bother to read the mag and have unsubscribed from emails, you are not going to know about it. Where as a banner might catch your eye when making a booking.

I've booked 3 2 week stays since hearing the club will allocate hard standings first

Posted on 18/01/2022 12:55

Don't forget though Arch, that it will be done in date of booking order. Oldest bookings get the gravel.

Jk

If members chose to bury their heads in the sand then they only have themselves to blame. Bleating at the 11th hour will be a complete waste of time, it is already a done deal and I cannot see the Club doing any back pedalling at this late stage.

I'm sure the Club will be very happy that this thread is doing the work that it is unable to do itself, by the members fine tuning the booking system and closing all loopholes. Unpaid voluntary work๐Ÿ‘

I have not had any comunication from the club for the last couple of years except for renewals, I thought newsletter were like most things just a flash in the pan

I don’t receive newsletter either. Can’t remember the last time I received e-mail other than for site booking.

Just checked communication preferences, I should receive it

Exactly some members will never believe in preplanning their leisure time, (the opportunity to cancel bookings is still part of the new up & coming system) .

These members will be the ones that shouted for deposits thinking it would magic up availability where previously none was available when they wanted it.

They are going to be mightily disappointed still, especially now it's basically been confirmed that the bookings made earlier get the H/S pitches on their preferred dates/site.

We've only booked one site in October so far, but knowing this information ref H/S allocated for the early bookers may well be the catalyst to pre book more & deal with cancellations or amendments at a later date.

Ps.

Deposits are just part of the bookings game now.
