The Club have released more details of the new Booking System here

There are still finer details still to be arrived but the link (thanks Harry) sets out how the new system will work.

I have closed the previous thread on when we will get details of the new booking system and opened this one to allow comments specifically on the new system rather than discussing what they might be.

If you can’t check in without getting out of the vehicle, I can’t see much point in paying up front. I accept you will have to come back to let them know the pitch number and pick up a barrier card / block key. When I put waving through I was meaning checking in from the vehicle, rather than just being waved through. Perhaps, fast tracked would have been more appropriate.  If the system gave the wardens a familiarity figure, based on number of sites stopped on, they could perhaps modify the list of instructions, to further speed things up,

I am just wondering whether people would go to the bother of just booking for one just to reduce the deposit? I have just looked at the Broadway site for a week in summer and the difference in deposit for one as opposed to a family of four (two adults, plus two children) is £28 by my calculation. If it did become a regular thing I am sure the Club would clamp down on it.

Can someone please advise (date) when this new booking system comes into effect

Well good point does anyone know? The FAQs don't appear to give date, or I can't find it?

April has been said somewhere?

I got that to a £40 difference in the deposit (July) but I've only done it quickly and might be wrong! wink I noticed someone comment on this action earlier in the thread and didn't test it.

It looks like the club will be migrating all the present bookings first and contacting those members who've made them and I presume April is the target date?

That's already been mooted on here, paying a deposit for one adult, there are people who will use these tactics. Some will opt for payments on arrival as this will also avoid loss of funds should there be a cancellation, this is a financial loop hole which some will relish. I'd be interested to hear if there's a way round this for CAMC! Maybe an admin fee for repeat tactics?

God forbid someone finds a way to minimise the cost why not put a whipping post outside reception and give them a good flogging

The last thing we need is more admin fees and fines.

If it was a family of 4 with 3 at the adult price it would be £40 more deposit for a week than just booking for one. In the event of defaulting on the booking their loss would be £23 more than ourselves booking a similar pitch. Which doesn’t seem fair.

Or a long queue while the warden sorts out the actual price.

Afternoon

I don't believe there's an exact date at present. We're advised it should be the start of the second quarter which of course is April.
