Good morning. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience being caused with the implementation of our new booking system. Members and guests are able to make bookings through the new system however this is not the complete experience we have designed.

Please be assured our IT and Technical Teams are working extremely hard to resolve all of the issues as soon as possible.

Thanks TG I've just gone through the booking procedure once more...the bank and CAMC will probably wonder what's going on but I've cancelled again and rebooked. I originally wanted to pay for one night and this was deducted twice. Just before payment it asks for the name and DOB of anyone included on the booking, so I had to input details for OH (using my laptop.)

Now have to await any refunds due, possibly 5 days.

You will be lucky if you get a refund

.... Out of interest about the credit card suggestion I don't have one, I like to pay as I go. smile

You can still pay up at the end of the month, and you get the protection of the credit card company .... I guess then that you draw cash for everything 🤷‍♂️

You guess wrong and I don't need to give further details. smile

A positive update I have received CAMC emails for the latest transactions.

Well, well, well.

So, after spending years saying that there were no speculative bookings and refusing to release numbers of late cancellations, the Club has spent 2 years and who knows how much money on developing a booking system that takes deposits……to prevent speculative bookings. And it doesn’t work!  laughinglaughinglaughing

Last week we were on a private site, owned and run by a couple, that did have such a booking system that worked perfectly. It cost us about half as much to stay there as a Club site costs and had facilities at least as good as any Club site. But, being adult only, was far cleaner and quieter.

This week we are on another private site. No booking system (just a phone call), no deposits, no problems. Costs a third of a Club site and we are one of three units sharing about an acre of beautiful, well drained grass surrounded by trees and shrubs.

People using Club sites are, frankly, being had for mugs.

Any comment from the CAMC fan club?

Of course there were problems with the old site.

With any new site it takes time to find the things you want to find, because you are used to the old ways.

All that is to be expected.

A few minor glitches are to be expected.

However, the new site and its launch go way beyond any of that. People are finding issues with pretty much every area of the site.

A new web site should be user friendly and intuitive. This site is not.

Its launch is an IT and PR disaster. The reputational risk is huge. It will take time for the Club to rebuild its credibility amongst a lot of very angry members. I don’t think that such numbers of angry members should be dismissed as having a moan, or not giving the Club a chance.

I just hope the Club cares sufficiently to remedy the situation.

In the old system which is still there as a method to find a site etc I've found it easier to put a named site in the search box at the top right corner of this page, then tap "book" on the site details and you're straight into the booking page. This works if you know the site needed. I did the same previously, you don't need to get there via searches and maps if you know where you are going. smile

Searches for CLs work still work in the old system too and obviously you don't need a booking page for these.

I feel that the club is being run by accountants not the members. £25 NON REFUNDABLE deposits X 100,000's equals a great deal of income !!

They are refundable if you cancel within the time limits.

Just wondering why you are lurking on a site frequented by "mugs"?

Maybe time to cancel your membership and move on if you don't like the direction the club is going.
