I haven't seen any confirmation or otherwise regarding this but have just read it on Faceache with a date of 25th June being, allegedly, given by a member of site staff for implementation.

UP TO DATE INFORMATION ON BOOKINGS

We are normally able to book for next June from today.
However this isn’t possible as the website is moving over to deposits in the next couple of weeks.
So at this time we cannot book anything for next June until the system is live.

I suppose its not beyond the realms of possibility that external factors beyond the Cub's control are a factor. If hardware is involved, there are reports of difficulties with deliveries.

Well even me, or should that be even I, wouldn't be that generous PD.

They need to decide asap the best way forward, either wait or allow the current sytem to go a bit longer.

I wonder if they don't want to do that as June, July and August being the club's peak occupancy that will cost them quite a bit in lost deposits?

They might lose even more if people book to get a firm booking for holidays elsewhere for next Summer.

Imagine if say you couldn't book a package for next year with Thompsons? You'd just go to Jet2?

Just thought I would throw that into the mix. If the Club told members about  the problems we would have much less to write about.

In my experience marketing have a habit of jumping the gun as well.

Jim, it’s their problem not yours. You have a secure booking. Why are you frustrated?

Posted on 15/08/2022 20:23

I suspect it’s likely to be the problem of anyone with or making bookings, as it’s likely to be a right pigs breakfast when it is eventually introduced. Particularly if they can’t speed up this web site, absolutely everything is running slow.☹️

I’ve been trying to find out from the club when the new booking experience is going live I have sent several emails & the first reply said it was going live on 8th of this month then I got told it would be today Monday 15 Aug I’ve had an email stating my booking for September was being transferred to the new system so I had an online chat with them today to find out how I can make sure I get a hard standing pitch only to be told the new system wouldn’t be coming in till early in September due to complications. I just can’t understand why they can’t get the new system up & running I’ve been a club member for 20 years & I’ve never known them to have so many problems implementing a new system it’s getting to be a bit frustrating now

You're not guaranteed a hardstand in the present system if you have a reasonable long booking you're probably going to get a hardstand if its a short stay then grass it's obvious even to HO that hardstand is the preferred choice so as I see it they will lose a great number of bookings in the new system when there is only grass available

Perhaps the Club have been over ambitious on possible start dates. I am not so sure that if they explained the reason for the problem there would less to discuss? I just imagine a whole raft of "experts" telling them how it should be donewink

Happily, we have no bookings either at the moment, or in the pipe line😎
