We were staying on the North Yorkshire site at Whitby and our neighbours were heating their  awning all day. No wonder the prices are going up on the Caravan Club sites.

I so agree   what did the site manager do when you mentioned it?

One warden  as they were then , would trip the bollard if he noticed one,(could be earth fault on heater sircool)

What did the warden say to the other 3 paying customers who were getting their electricity from the bollard when he tripped it!

Good point and why was that warden acting in that way, I wonder🤔

JVB we've had this discussion before 'heat' does not rise, heated air rises. However the heat from radiant halogen heaters travels in straight lines and does not heat the air while it travels, it only heats the person or anything else able to absorb the energy.

However, surely the clothes on the person will shed heat into the colder air against them, as will the metal and fabric of the chair they are sat in. That heat will rise upwards, with only a thin layer of fabric insulating it from the outside environment. Either way it is far less efficient than heating a well insulated RV. I agree it is currently within the rules but  in my opinion, it shouldn’t be.

Very minimal I would say as most energy would be absorbed by the person/object. A crude analogy would be like boiling water to 100C in a microwave, does the air get heated to anywhere near that temperature, or even slightly heated?

As an aside but one never hears about using AC units?

What would he be doing in the awning?

Protecting others?

It's clearly past your bedtime, JV, and all you're doing is making the warden look stupid.

And yet again it is very hot hot air from 20000or more watts as when standing in front of one it is very warm at head height that is still going up through the flimsy roofsurprised

Ah, so you didn't mean what you said. Try using the right words next time and we might understand you.

Actually, I'm not a drinker so your quip was a wasted effort.
