Exploiting the members

Why is it necessary for the club sites to seek excessive profits on  school holidays. My son has booked a pitch at Brecon beacon site for the Easter holidays. Cost per night for 2 adults and 1 child  £37.80 per night. The following week it would have been £ 27.95. What extra costs does the running of the site between the 2 weeks. .Nothing just exploiting the members because of the school holidays. Yet another excuse to make more money from the members when we already pay a membership fee.

Looks OK for oldies with dogs, forest and moor walks on the doorstep and NT properties nearby, but I'm not sure Cardinham would be the Cornish destination of choice for many families would it?  undecided

The joys of Trago spring to mind……😁We like exploring on Bodmin Moor, some lovely little churches, Golitha Falls, Brown Willy etc…. But never been tempted to stay inland, much prefer to be near coast in Cornwall. Bodmin Moor was our rainy day drive if staying round Fowey.

It's not a great issue  for  us as we dont have need for club sites or actually any other uk sites for more than the odd night . However having spent the last 40 years enjoying the use of sites of  superior quality  to club sites for a fraction of the price it amazes me that this thread is overwhelmingly filled with members justifying its high prices  . How many companies would just love to have customers like this one?

I think you confuse justifying with explaining.

Why not? Cornwall is packed with campsites like that and they’re all full in summer. Nearby Cardinham Woods is extremely busy with families all year. There are plenty of independent campsites with very modest tariff variations over the course of the year, some in holiday hot spots like St Ives and the superb Hellesveor Holidays

Well, yes, Cardinham Woods always seem very popular at all times of the year when we've been, but I suspect (none of us can say for sure actually) that's largely local families outside of holiday season and maybe day visitors in holiday season.

But my point was that Cardinham itself wouldn't be the first place in Cornwall that springs to mind for a main family holiday!

It’s a long, long way from exploitation gladly. You are welcome to pick & mix-take the things from C&MC that suit you & ignore the things that don’t, it’s as simple as that. I was an ‘Apple head’ at one point I loved Apple products & I happily paid the high cost of devices. Then they got really greedy so I dumped em for Android👍🏻. If C&MC is(in your opinion) exploiting you then don’t let them👍🏻. It’s normal practice everywhere by every company. No one should think themselves special enough to want the rules to changing for them🤷🏻‍♂️
